All right, so I've been on my own personal Bruce tour this last week and haven't been able to keep up with the news, but for the two people out there who hasn't found out: Bruce has announced three shows at Giants Stadium for July 27, 28, and 31 of 2008. This is the first indication of a summer leg in North America, and there will no doubt be more shows added, including probably more at Giants Sta ... Read more

European tour kicked off

Published 2007-11-27
In a one-two punch Spain got the honor of hosting the first two shows of the European Magic fall tour. Sunday night in Madrid and last night in Bilbao. The energy level was, as is always the case in Spain, unbelievable although the setlists were fairly standard (if you can call setlists that include "Kitty's Back" standard), possibly due to the fact that this was Charles Giordano's first shows wit ... Bad news for the European fans and for the E Street Band: keyboardist Danny Federici will not be joining the tour overseas as he will be taking a leave of absence from the band. However, if everything goes well, he will be rejoining the tour further down the ... Read more

Shorefire Media has announced a full North American spring leg of the Magic Tour. A total of 27 shows covering a good chunk of the US and parts of Canada. Most suspiciously absent are cities like Denver and Phoenix, but there are still gaps open where more shows could be added. Biggest surprise must be a show in Omaha, Nebraska, where Bruce hasn't played since 1978. See the Read more

Dave commenting on this: Really enjoying it so far, but only up to the Darkness sessions. Amazing writing for an amateur!
Charlene Linden commenting on this: I want to read it more than ever. When I saw him play at my university (Clark University, Worcester MA Oct.6 1974, 6 days before my 17th) I was frightened and lonely. I was younger than other students because I had graduated HS early. The tickets were free with our activity fee. I thought - oh he's going to be another self indulgent singer song writer. The 70s were full of those. My room mate could see that I was hesitant, and assured me that I'd love him. And I did. I felt a spiritually uplifting and joyous experience, like no other. This was more than music. This became a transformative event. One I would repeat many times. I am not at all shocked that Bruce is still a tortured soul - more than the bouts with depression that we all know. Along with the late Lou Reed, he is responsible for some of the best American rock and roll. I can't wait until the snow lets up. I NEED this book!
Mikey commenting on this: Interesting thoughts, I even agree with some of them, which might scare you. Thanks for the review
