  5. This is definitely a list of favorite albums and not “best” albums each year. Some years were hard to pick because there was so much great music. Others were hard because there was so little good music. 1976 – Hotel California – The Eagles 1977 – Rumours – Fleetwood Mac 1978 – Darkness on the Edge of Town – Bruce Springsteen 1979 – The Wall – Pink Floyd 1980 – The River – Bruce Springsteen 1981 – Greatest Hits – Queen 1982 – Nebraska – Bruce Springsteen 1983 – Sports – Huey Lewis & The News 1984 – Born In The USA – Bruce Springsteen 1985 – Brothers In Arms – Dire Straits 1986 – The Thin Red Line – Glass Tiger 1987 – Appetite for Destruction – Guns N’ Roses (I forgot how many good albums came out this year) 1988 – See The Light – Jeff Healey 1989 – Straight Outta Compton – NWA 1990 – Violator – Depeche Mode 1991 – Nevermind – Nirvana 1992 – 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of… - Arrested Development 1993 – Doggystyle – Snoop Doggy Dogg 1994 – Dookie – Green Day 1995 – Garbage – Garbage 1996 – Spice – Spice Girls (So embarrassed to admit this) / Rent Original Cast Recording 1997 – The Colour and The Shape – Foo Fighters 1998 – Version 2.0 – Garbage 1999 – Californication – Red Hot Chili Peppers 2000 – All That You Can’t Leave Behind – U2 2001 – Love And Theft – Bob Dylan 2002 – The Rising – Bruce Springsteen 2003 – Decoration Day – Drive By Truckers 2004 – American Idiot – Green Day 2005 – Separation Sunday – The Hold Steady 2006 – Boys And Girls In America – The Hold Steady 2007 – Magic – Bruce Springsteen 2008 – Stay Positive – The Hold Steady 2009 – Sounds Of The Universe – Depeche Mode 2010 – The Suburbs – Arcade Fire 2011 – Wasting Light – Foo Fighters 2012 – Wrecking Ball – Bruce Springsteen / Boys & Girls – Alabama Shakes 2013 – Lightning Bolt – Pearl Jam 2014 – Sonic Highways – Foo Fighters
  6. Feb. 10 - Robert Earl Keen - Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn Mar. 8 - Dropkick Murphys - Irving Plaza, NYC Apr. 6 - The Decemberists - Beacon Theater, NYC Apr. 11 - Stars - Webster Hall, NYC May 26 - The Who - Barclays Center, Brooklyn July 16 - Foo Figthers - Citi Field, Queens July 18 - U2 - Madison Square Garden, NYC July 23 - U2 - Madison Square Garden, NYC Haven't decided yet if I'm going to both U2 shows. I'm really excited about the concerts I've got lined up so far this year. And the Hold Steady just announced a show next month but sadly my finances won't allow it. Hopefully they'll come back later in the year.
  7. Mary's Place was played straight through like on the album. It was NOT the over-extended 20 minute version from the Rising Tour. For me it was much more enjoyable than in the past, but still by far the weak point of the night. But, the crowd seemed to love it and I have to admit that I had always wondered what it would sound like without all the extras from past tours.
  8. Just got home from the show and it was one of the best ever. Bruce was very loose and was clearly having a blast. Living on the Edge of the World was very rough, with Bruce actually picking up the lyric sheet and singing from it, but it sounded great. Lost in the Flood was very powerful. Gary US Bonds was great - especially on Jole Blon and it just doesn't get better than Incident-Rosie. Wednesday's show was longer and lots of fun but it was nothing compared to tonight. Can't wait to see how he tops this tomorrow night!!!
  9. Thanks. Good luck with the tickets. This is just as bad as TM yesterday!
