I've only recently found out that the FA cup final is, I believe, being played on 5th May (a week or so before the season ends) with a 515 pm kick off.

Surely this is final and conclusive proof that football's soul has been sold?

A 5-15 KO will mean more fans drunk..all over the country.
a week before the season is over is just crap IMO.
If this is going to happen every year I'll agree with you, but it may just be this seasons final because of the Olympics ?

The F A Cup final is the most important football game in the world - bigger than the Champions League and World Cup. It should be played on the Saturday after the league ends and before the European ..ooops.. Champions League final and should kick off at 3 o'clock. In the morning, there should be Cup Finali it's a knockout and on the Friday night before, I should be allowed in to stay up late to watch Who'll Win The Cup.

Ach, it's just all indicative of how fitba has gone down the toilet.
From next season, the Scottish Cup final is being played on a Sunday, so it can be held on the same weekend as the European Cup Final (fucked if I'll ever use that "CL" misnomer).
UEFA, apparently, will not allow any games to be played on the same day as their final, even with an afternoon kick off.

Money doesn't talk, it fucking screams.

The allocation of tickets is a joke too.

I was under the impression that both clubs were getting 25K tickets?

This has traditionally always been the same, with the remainder distributed to FA member clubs/leagues nationwide.

Now that the stadium holds 10K less than it used to the finalists actually get a bigger percentage of tickets than they used to so I don't understand the beef.

The date & kick-off time however is a joke.

I guess the beef is 25,000 is not enough as a percentage of the capacity. i know its always been like that but 40,000 in a stadium who have no interest in the teams? thats disgusting in my book. It will never change though. I think the biggest piss take about the FA Cup is the semi finals at wembley.

The authorities are totally fleecing the customer. Staggering how tickets prices have rocketed through the roof......the cheapest for the final being £45 I think (ie up in the Gods), through to £115 lower tier side of pitch. Don't worry about 40,000 neutrals being there - most of the Club Wembley section for example(the prawn sandwich section) will end up blue or red). I am amazed how people can seemingly keep affording it. Take a Chelsea North Upper stand season ticket holder paying £880 per season for 19 league games (approx £47 per game). Imagine the extra cost if (s)he's then recently been to Napoli at home, ditto Benfica, ditto Barca, Spurs in the semi final and maybe say Fulham away......all at about £50 per game. Then as for the Champs League final, the 17,500 Chelsea allocation is priced at 70 / 160 / 270 / 360 Euros. Unreal. Club Wembley seats are I believe circa £200 face value if you can get them.....but I was last week offered two for £900 from a Spurs friend who had 'prematurely ejaculated' and bought two before the semi final. No thanks. I must push the boat out and buy a very expensive bottlee of wine and watch the game at home in front of the TV.....cheap at half the price (rant over !).
