Hi guys,

Just a question regarding the GA section at Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, 4th July. At present, I'm lucky to have a GA ticket, however I won't be able to arrive at the arena until around 5pm at the absolute earliest. Would it be worthwhile trying to trade this for a seated ticket? Obviously I'm not going to make the pit, but realistically how far back will I be in the GA area if I don't rock up until this time?

Thanks in advance,
Tom.

Who knows is the answer.

The pit held 300 or so in 2007, I believe, but that may change.

It depends on how many of those people who miss out on the pit queue to get to the front of the GA section. There are so many variables.

There are already people in line at Bercy so if you are arriving on the 4th I would say forget the pit. Even if you are at the back at Bercy you won't be that far away from the stage anyway. The place only holds 20,000 and the seats are quite high up.

The pit in Montpellier had a 800 capacity. The ca. in Bercy should be lower (more guest).. but still well over 300.

People were already getting numbers on the weekend. Someone posted a picture yesterday of two people getting 22 and 23... mad.

Looks a lot like the Manchester Arena where I saw Pearl Jam the other week... which was incredible in terms of atmosphere! Something very cool about the stand joining up with the standing crowd like that, it makes it seem like one huge sea of people.

Have a blast man, I'm secretly a bit jealous of you seeing Bruce in a place like that when I only have Hard Rock Calling... but you can't see them all, eh?

I'm assuming that I've got no chance of the pit on Wednesday as I won't get there until mid-afternoon - however, should be there nice and early on Thursday!

I had these in 2002 and trade dup with a tout outside and regretted it. Tried for them again in 07 and missed out. I have them for Thurs and am in front Weds. I think they are great seats - although don't know what sound is like. You are very close and Bruce and the band turn round a lot to the crowsd there - and you may well be on any dvd - so not too shabby at all!

I sat behind the stage in Sweden once, it must've been Stockholm. It's a very different experience but definitely enjoyable. You get to see all the comings and goings backstage that you'd normally miss, I was sat behind Roy and it was fascinating to see him at work and the sound was great too

The venue looks awesome, so jealous, wish I was coming. I sat behind the stage in New York years ago, it was different, but great, probably the closest to the stage I've ever been (except for Bercy the year before NY, when we ended up right at the front and to this day, I have no idea how that happened!! Bloomin marvellous tho!)
...and all I need is a philosophy of noise to help me laugh and breathe...
...sometimes we don't know what we're waiting for, that's the time to be the first one on the dance floor...
...for the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside...etc(!)

Tom, I have a seat in Block C but would prefer to stand even if not particuarly near the front. I will try and put this on the ticket exchange type link here at GL. If you fancy a swap, let me know via that link. We could just hook up outside late afternoon.

I'll second that - we were huddled together like penguins!

I remember the sound at the front not being great - it sort of flew over our heads - so will maybe go for a spot a bit further back this time. Won't be there until mid-morning that's for sure.

Bruce is used to playing to folk behind the stage. I remember at Belfast in '07 there was about 3 people behind the stage and he spent lots of time playing to them..because it was an open stage he probably thought there were loads of people behind him...

hmmm, arriving there no earlier than 2 or even 3pm on Wednesday. Hope I'm not too far away. I remember on one of the earlier shows in Paris that I was there around noon time and started lining up. Got in the venue just behind the pit, but what a great sight.
Summer's here, time is right
