I run trivia nights for a living. Earlier this evening I got a phone call from a semi regular attendee who is also a huge Bruce fan. He informed me that last night he was at some political function and met Kevin Jacobsen. He didn't know who KJ was, and for those in Aus, he was the promoter last time Bruce played here in 2003. KJ told him that he was a promoter and informed my friend that Springsteen in Australia is LOCKED IN!!!! Sydney is locked in for March 13, with Melbourne and Brisbane gigs as well. He didn't tell me the dates for the other two. KJ also mentioned that they were looking to get Bruce into a music festival at Hanging Rock (in Victoria).. nothing was mentioned at this stage about NZ..
I have a contact well in with the SCG Trust so will be calling tomorrow to see if I can sniff out if he is playing the SCG or the SFS.. will keep all informed..
If this is correct, then it will be 10 years to the month since he last played here...

Oh this is absolutely sensational! Thanks for the info man and it confirms another definite report that was given last week. The music festival at hanging rock sounds a bit out there but whatever, I can actually drive my car there rather than boarding a plane for once! It's now 10 past midnight, I'm buzzing and it's gonna be a while before my brain shuts down for the night, such great fuckin news

I've heard the exact same thing (same dates etc). My mum was having dinner with a friend (a Bruce fanatic) who is best friends with Jacobsen. She got a text from Jacobsen himself with these details, however the only thing that worries me was that in the text it said that tickets would be released Nov 1.. As we know that ship has passed.. We'll just have to wait and see

Just would seem unlikely that he would have Rio booked in for Sept next year and there would be nothing outside of Europe and the US between now and then..
