this show is in Portland, Oregon not to be confused with the prettier Portland Maine which is on I-95 and probably where Landau thought he was booking

TriMet adds service for soccer game, Springsteen concert

Created on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 | Written by Jim Redden |

Both events start early Wednesday evening

TriMet is adding extra bus and MAX service to get people to and from two big events on Wednesday — the U.S. Women vs. the Republic of Ireland Women soccer game at JELD-WEN Field and the Bruce Springsteen concert at the Rose Garden.
Both events start in the early evening. TriMet will begin running additional buses and MAX trains earlier to help people get to the events. The additional service will also be provided when the events end.
TriMet urges those who do not ride the buses or trains regularly to remember there is no longer free service anywhere in its service area, including the downtown core.
The U.S. Women are scheduled to take on the Republic of Ireland Women at 7 p.m. at JELD-WEN Field. Express buses will run between downtown Portland and JELD-WEN Field before and after the game. In addition to express and regular service buses, MAX Blue and Red line trains deliver riders to the stadium. Extra trains will run after the match to help people leave the area. The narrow Kings Hill/SW Salmon St. MAX platform will be closed one hour before game time and remain closed until about an hour and a half after the game for safety reasons.
The Bruce Springsteen concert is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. All MAX lines and several bus lines serve the Rose Garden area. Extra trains will be put in service as needed to help concertgoers leaving the event.
TriMet Day Passes are $5 for adults, $3.30 for youths and $2 for honored citizens.

[sup]now that would be a good sign too[/sup]

I am taking my daughter, who turns 11 today! It will be her first Bruce show and she is taking a friend from school. The 3 of us, driving up from Eugene today, have booked a hotel room across the street from the arena (my daughter wanted that--I have plenty of friends in the Rose City to stay with). We will go out to dinner (sushi, her favorite) and then look to purchase tix outside the show. She is PUMPED!! Me, too! So if you see a guy and two very young girls standing out in the rain, looking for 3 decent tickets at a decent price, make my daughters birthday special, come up and say hello!!

Judging from the Vancouver show - brace yourself Portland! An absolutely killer show here on Monday. I've been at almost every Pacific Northwest area Bruce show since '80 and I'd easily stack this one up in the top 5. Unfortunately that inconvenience called "work" is keeping me from heading down I-5. The band is beyond good with the extra horns and singers - somethig I wasn't crazy to hear about back when the tour started as I thought it would be too much. But I've changed my tune because the sound is so full and dynamic.

"You're gonna have a good time."

Cheers from Canada.
