  1. Loved this radio programme. I thought she and the contributors captured why so many people from different backgrounds love Bruce. Just wish it had been a little longer. if you liked it I would recommend the other 2 shows in the series and also a fantastic 2-3 hour travelogue across the U. S. That Laura presented on BBC Sounds.
  2. I will cheat by picking Atlantic City and then playing all the different versions(including live in Dublin) to showcase his brilliance. As for Video I am partial to Dream Baby Dream which captures both the his and the Bands performance and the sheer joy and delight of the audience. Never fails to bring a tear to my eyes watching the crowds reactions.
  3. Beautiful rendition of one of his best ever songs! And very much capturing the mood and theme of the day! mind you Katy Perry and her fireworks was the standout performance! I am a sucker for firework!
  4. I went for Western Stars. There is not a bad tune on it to my ears, where as LTY is imo far more up and down. The highlights such as If I Was the Priest or i'll see you in my dreams, are better than anything on WS but there are too many middling songs for me and I am already skipping them.
  5. Absolutely fantastic album, sound is amazing! Cant wait to see them again.
  6. Really enjoyed that interview and having been fortunate to have seen The Killers at Glastonbury in 2017 in the John Peel tent and then again in 2019 headlining I can vouch for their live show brilliance. The 2017 show is probably my favourite ever hour of live music. If you have time try and catch it on Youtube the crowd was fantastic.
  7. Enjoyed the film(though no need to revisit it) and am looking forward to the record even more now. Burning Train was my standout tune!
  8. Good stuff, a proper E St tune. particularly enjoyed the sweeping synths! Augurs well for album hopefully. Video not too shabby either.
  9. I love how everyone has different experiences of the same gig. I really enjoyed the cricket ground concert and one of my fave moments was Sandy. Never really liked the song before but the summer heat perhaps maybe made me hear the song in a different light. Only to be put off it again when Tony Blair picked it as his desert island disk.
  10. I love Live in Dublin but did not enjoy the Manchester show at all. Blamed the in the gods seats at a terrible venue but looking back I think it was probably due to the fact my dad had recently passed away and I was still getting over that. Will give this show a go and would like to see him come back for a similar tour.
  11. Dublin Live, Nebraska, Rest. Top 3 Bruce tune for me! Before I go out for the night with my wife I always utter! "Put your make up on, fix your hair up pretty"
  12. Finally got round to watching this! Thought the musical interludes were a bit rubbish but overall enjoyed the movie with the use of some of the lyrics being super imposed very effective! Thought the lead and young actors did a good job and the period details bought back the dark days of Maggie convincingly. Finished watching it and came over to the Lake to find the posts on new album hints from Nils. Hope he is right as a tour next year is probably exactly what we all need right now.
  13. The Whistle Test I saw Bruce on first was I think a new years eve compilation, couldnt tell you what year(early 80s?) Annie Nightingale spent the whole show saying they had rare Springsteen footage and not too miss it. Last song was Rosalita and Bruce being mobbed by girls! I was hooked from that day forward. Anyone else catch that TV show and can confirm what year it was?
  14. For UK Lakers the Saturday Glastonbury Experience programme on BBC2 will be showing highlights from the 2009 Springsteen headliner set. Supposed "rarely" seen before tunes. It will probably be available on the BBC Iplayer for a few days afterwards if you cant see it on the day. Not his best performance but enjoy all the same!
  15. 16. Racing in the Street Atlantic City LOHAD New York Serenade Kingdom of Days Thunder Road Long Walk Home Drive All Night Hello Sunshine No Surrender no particular order and a few could be swapped out depending on my mood.
  17. absolutely magnificent. been waiting for this to be put up on the thread. I really need to watch the DVD more often. Fantastic memory of a great evening!
  18. Well according to Spotify my most played song was Hello Sunshine and most listened to artist Michael Kiwanuka. Which leads nicely to my fave gig of the year which was Michael Kiwanuka at Glastonbury. His new album is excellent too!
  19. Really enjoyed interview and the show as a whole. Will try and listen more. His reflections on the Album, film, Broadway and memoir made me realise that for someone so obviously creative the usual album tour cycle must feel so limiting by the time you are 70. And that these last few years projects have probably revitalised his passions and that hopefully we will get a great new band album in the next few months.
  20. No I agree with you. Release a dvd fine but a cd. Hate to say it but seems a money making exercise too far! Still no one makes us buy it I suppose! Not for me though.
  21. On a Glastonbury discussion board I frequent, there are a couple of mentions of Bruce touring next summer. One from someone in a ticketing agency who says he will be all over europe next year and the second from a booker at Anfield who stated they are trying very hard to get him. Some hopeful types are putting his name forward as a potential headliner based on this type of info.
