I'm not sure when they reset. I didn't think it was this early, but the rules change all the time.

as somebody else has said, it is now 19 games played by a team rather than a set date for removal of 5 bookings suspension.

Edit: if the Video Anthology versions of The River and Thunder Road were used, then without doubt there would have been complaints 'Why did they not use the prevously unseen versions from the other night? '. Always something to complain about indeed.

They could have added them as a bonus  feature after the end credits.  Also I think the closing credits could have been done over a non show song  as somebody has said earlier Roulette or perhaps Glory Days and footage that was not used in the film.

It doesn’t make any sense. It’s not as if there are 30 songs, there are just 13, and Rave On is one of the 10 never seen before. A treasured video which has remained unseen by virtually anyone for 42 years. So they go to great lengths to unearth it, restore the picture to HD, then plaster credits across it. Complete madness.

Was the song planned to be played?  It may have been an extra after the show was due to end and the cameras were not set up or expecting the so the picture quality was not as good.

Well, unless it happens very soon, it won't be in the next eight months if it's going to be in England - perhaps they could play indoors! Cardiff (not in England but it's England and Wales anyway) has a stadium with a roof but the boundaries will be a bit short.

Sounds like BCCI trying to dodge financial responsibility for their decision.

I think they are talking about a one off test next summer when India are over for white ball cricket.

India didn't wanted the this test after the Oval test, they had wanted it as the first test, but the ECB would not agree to move it that due to the new Hundred competition.

  5. apparently there is a dispute re the result of the test, the ECB are claiming a walkover and India are claiming it as a cancelled test, it is down to the match referee, Chris Broad to decide the result.

    from cricinfo

"It is understood that the ECB are still pushing hard for this match to be considered a "forfeiture" - ie, India declining to play - because they fear that their insurance payments for the match may not apply if it is considered a bilateral "cancellation", especially given that India's squad returned a full round of negative tests on Thursday, so it is not a straightforward Covid cancellation."

I really hope they don’t put interviews in between the songs that really interrupts the flow of the show. Or make an option that you can also watch it without interviews in between.
But we have to wait to the press release for the details.

my guess is a 2 disc set.  1 disc best version of songs sequenced into a live concrt, 2nd disc documentary with some versions of songs not on 1st disc.

It was only a few days ago that england were handed a UEFA fine because of their "fans", last night those "fans" did not fail to deliver yet again. Booing the anthem, breaking into the stadium, assaulting srewards, assaulting police, obviously fines do not work so it is time to take decisive action like in the 1980`s and impose a ban period.

This could damage the British Isles bid for the 2030 World cup, hosting the Semi Finals and Final was meant to show the rest of the world how well Britain can host a major tournament, somebody at UEFA may advise British Isles not to bid, or refuse to support such a bid.

  8. Gutted.  The theory of bringing on 2 penalty takers in 120 minute is good, shows thought by the manager, however in practice maybe the players were not feeling part of the game.

The behaviour of  England fans in the last couple of games has let the country down against Denmark abusing Women and children today storming the turnstiles and getting in without tickets, pitch invasion.

Hopefully the fans in the pubs will behave themselves, that extra pint that the government let fans have  won't lead to violence.

  9. What is the rule if say the goalkeeper misses the ball because he has a laser shone in his eyes?  is it a drop ball?  is it just unfortunate and play on?  can the VAR review the situation?  Does anybody know the rules, my guess is possibly a drop ball if ref sees it or play on if the ref does not.

  10. From the BBC website

    Bruce Springsteen

    The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show

Bruce Springsteen, The Boss, chats to Zoe about his latest series of shows for BBC Radio 2. From My Home To Yours is recorded at Bruce's home in New Jersey in the USA and features records from the Boss’ own collection. Each of the hour long programmes are themed and feature collections of songs to do with the radio, with the relationship between bands and their fans, with lawyers, guns & money and a special mix after a hard working week. The original four-part series ran from through July into August 2020 and in that first series, he had one show dedicated to cars, one to songs that reflected life in lockdown and another where he was joined by his wife and bandmate Patti Scialfa. Since releasing his debut Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. in 1972, Bruce Springsteen has released 20 studio albums, many of with his backing band, the E Street Band. His first major brush with fame came with the release of his third album Born to Run in 1975, which received wide spread critical acclaim and sold some 6 million copies. He has sold more than 150 million records worldwide and more than 64 million albums in the United States, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has earned numerous awards for his work, including 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes, an Academy Award and a Tony Award.

There also is not a VAR on the planet that would have overturned a decision to not award a penalty, had the referee made such a decision.

There is an issue with what the laws say and how they are implemented.  On sky news they used to have a slot called Ref Watch where things like this were looked at and his answer whenever a penalty like this  or even more obvious was not given the answer was "not enough for me".

  12. With crowds back in stadiums home advantage is massive.  in an empty stadium or a neutral ground Italy would be favourites, home advantage I think England should win.

  13. This country has gone mad, scenes of people jumping on roofs of buses "celebrating" are acceptable, I feel sorry for people on the buses who are trying to get places work/home etc, what would previously have been considered football hooliganism is now normal behaviour.

I'm sure I'm right in thinking that Southgate is the first England manager to reach the semi finals of both the World Cup and Euros?

He's clearly doing something right. These players have now achieved more than the more celebrated likes of Beckham and Rooney ever did.

i think Alf Ramsay may have done that before.

I don't understand why non of his teammates are deemed to have been close enough to him to need to isolate. Surely they are in a bubble doing (almost) everything together.

Does the contact come up on an app on the players phones?  Did the England players have their phones turned on?  when the players are training they probably leave their phones in their lockers.

Therein lies the big problem with using VAR to measure offside to the cm. The freeze frame can be anything up to a 15th of a second after the ball is played and the relative position of two players can change a lot in that time.

    The rules appear to be:

When an offside decision is being deliberated, VAR must choose the frame which proves with certainty that the ball has been touched. If Frame A shows the boot not touching the ball, then VAR must select the next one in which the ball has definitely been touched.

maybe they should give the attacking team the benefit if the doubt and say that the player must be offside in the frame prior to the ball being touched AND the frame after the ball being touched.

Tight, but at least it's clear rather than a toenail or armpit.

    image.thumb.png.4310c29a334ea160fd5ba4433b663834.png

The ball in that photo is off the ground.  when the ball was kicked it was on the ground.  So that photo does not show a player being offside at the time the ball was kicked, it does show a player in an offside position shortly after the ball was kicked.

  19. I am not sure what was wrong with either try.  A knock on becomes a knock on once the ball touches another player or the ground.  the next player that the ball touched was behind the player who dropped the ball.

The other try if the wide players our out of position that is there fault.  the water carriers were still on the pitch, they were not interfering with play.  the ref said time on so the Welsh player was entitled to play the ball.

There is a lack of knowledge of the rules ny the BBC commentators/analysts, somebody should have put the laws on the screen.

  20. Do American police wear cameras?  Do American police work in pairs?

If there is video evidence then it should be obvious whether he was in a fit state to ride his bike.  If there are two policemen and they stick to the story as stated Bruce could be in trouble, it may not be only alcohol but perhaps prescription medication or underlying health issue.

The fans who had the selfie taken, presumably the police will have spoken to them.

The key word for me is surprise. Can Tracks 2 a BITISA box or Nebraska box be called a surprise?

Nebraska box set no, rerecording the songs with full orchestra and a few tracks added from the Wild the Innocent and the E street Shuffle would.

He has been doing his radio show so maybe a covers album of blues songs or Gospel songs, or other songs he has played on the show.
