  1. I had to say goodbye to my Hunter Boy January 12, 2022. He had been having problems getting sick to his stomach since late summer. After months of trying different foods because the vet thought/hoped it was a food allergy we finally got a referral to a specialist in Edmonton in December where they found he had large cell lymphoma. Put him on Prednisone and that helped for a time, got us through the holidays at least, but it’s effectiveness wore off and he started losing weight early in the new year. My friend is a vet and she came to the house and did her thing. It was very peaceful and less stressful than having to take the drive to the clinic. I’m so glad he no longer is hurting. One of the great losses of my life, it’s crazy how you can love something that never uttered a single word so deeply. Sure will me miss all the cuddles, purrs, head bunts, chin rubs, etc. 940C2453-1570-486E-9D83-2061755C04EB.MP4
  2. I travelled by myself from my small hometown in northern Alberta to the Albany on this tour to see Bruce for the first time live. I took planes and trains and automobiles on my cross North American trip to the show. At the time I had no idea of the meaning or importance of the E Street Band as I was only introduced to Bruce during the Born in the USA years and at least where I am from the attention on that album was all on Bruce not Bruce and the band. I had just got started in my career and vowed if possible I would never pass up another Bruce tour again. Although I have heard Albany was not the greatest show on the tour, maybe even one of the poorer ones, it was my introduction to live Bruce in person and also international travel. So glad for that concert and the others I’ve seen in the years in between then and now. Lots of great memories. Fingers crossed for one more time!

  4. Poor guy has tested positive twice for Covid-19 in the last month, most recently in Italy.
  5. He looks pretty good for a 62 year old man in my opinion.
  6. @rachelharms that looks like Kim St. Pierre at her induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame? Was she at the game? Her induction speech was fantastic

    World Cup 2022

    Big win for Canada tonight!!
  8. Fair points. Thanks for the reply. It’s obviously very complicated and as you say, Bruce will ultimately do what he feels is best for him.
  9. Why would his wife and children need to manage it after his death though? Couldn’t he direct his estate to pay someone to manage it just like he pays Landau and Barbara Carr now? He can and will do as he pleases of course it just feels kind of sad after all he went through back in the day to regain control of his catalogue that he would relinquish control again. I suppose this time though he isn’t a naive young artist being taken advantage of and knows exactly what he is doing. If it is to avoid taxes, I understand it on some level but it would break my heart a little. How much money does one man and his family need? I would be disappointed to find out he was as greedy as all of the folks he’s railed against that are on the conservative side of the political spectrum.
  10. Well played Danny Clinch. Well played.
  11. Pretty cool story on Randy Bachman locating his stolen guitar 45 years after the fact. It sounds like he will likely get it back after finding a suitable trade for the current owner. https://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/randy-bachman-s-first-guitar-was-stolen-45-years-ago-in-toronto-he-just-found-it-in-tokyo-1.5614775
  12. Stevie is on Bill Maher’s “Real Time” tonight maybe plugging his book.
  13. Congratulations Jessica!! https://www.si.com/olympics/2021/07/05/bruce-springsteen-daughter-jessica-named-equestrain-olympic-team
  14. It was amazing. Completely different than an E Street Band show at MSG but amazing nonetheless. That said once was enough for me. I like trying new cities/venues so looking forward to something different again on the 2022 tour.
  15. I can see both sides of the argument. It is a very expensive ticket. For me it was a bucket list trip to see my musical hero in an intimate setting. I’ve never tried for the pit when I’ve gone to a regular Bruce show because my friends who go with me are more casual fans so this was my chance to get up close and personal with Bruce. By the time I added in flights, hotels, etc. the ticket price itself was, in my opinion, a reasonable percentage of the overall trip’s cost.
  16. That will be a great show Dan, I hope you have a great evening. Saw them at the Ryman a few years back and it was a wonderful show, Jason is a top notch writer and virtuoso on the guitar. His lovely wife is phenomenal on the fiddle, too.
  17. Nice to have an E Street Band tour to look forward in 2022 amongst other Bruce related news!
  18. I’m sorry that family couldn’t say goodbye, that is heartbreaking. The rules have made no sense on multiple occasions but most Canadians were against an open border until the vaccinations in the US ramped up. That being said NHL teams haven’t been allowed to cross back and forth over the border whenever they please. American teams were allowed to be part of the “bubble” used to complete the season last year under an agreement with the NHL, the NHLPA, and various levels of Canadian government. This year no American teams have travelled to Canada nor have any Canadian teams gone to the US. That will change soon though as the semi-final round begins. Hopefully the border itself will open to citizens from both countries soon.
  19. The border is supposed to remain closed until at least June 21st but I know quite a few people who have travelled south to the US in the last few months. Pressure is beginning to mount to open the border as vaccinations administered increase in both countries.
  20. Awesome that Bruce will be performing again!!
  21. Jon Bon Jovi and the E Street Band
  22. Looked like a good hit to me. Unfortunate for Tinordi but Tanev threw a clean check.
