  1. He walked away that particular day. Who knows what happened after.
  2. When I first heard the song, I thought maybe it was the mechanic reminiscing about an affair with the trophy wife from « I’m on Fire ».
  3. Congrats Jimmy!! Your goalie stood on his head in the first! O’Reilley’s dropping f bombs all over the place on live tv. So cool to see the emotion.
  4. What a lovely thread. I don’t post a lot but I’ve been here since 2003. The Lake is a wonderful community to be part of. RIP FireRich
  5. Looks like something from ‘78
  6. I first came to know of Bruce Springsteen because of the Born in the USA album so I guess I’m one of the ones who came along and ruined it for « real » fans. I think I was in grade 8 and I fell for all the marketing; the cool factor, the muscles and bandana, the drums on BITUSA, the leather lunged voice, the videos, all of it. I was the target audience and I fell hook line and sinker. I didn’t know any of his history or the importance of the E Street Band. To me it was just Bruce Springsteen, so when HT/LT came out they were just new Bruce Springsteen records to me and I enjoyed them both. That being said, it was the live box set that I got for Christmas from my sister that turned me into a lifelong fan and made Bruce my favourite and most meaningful artist. The Nebraska songs in particular. My only negative on HT/LT is that I can remember watching the SNL show with 57 Channels and thinking it was awful. I was extremely disappointed in that performance, I just thought he had way better songs that he could have chosen. But what did I know, I was just a 20 year old kid.
  7. I didn’t think it was much of a movie but he looked eerily like Ted Buddy to me.
  8. Or from a Jane Fonda exercise video. Lol. Not a good look for my musical hero.
  9. John Prine - Calgary. August 9. All the Best Fest - Punta Cana. Nov.11-14
  10. Not sure the song is about trains but it’s a great train video
  11. Tough video to watch but a good song
  12. What a crazy finish to the third in the Sharks-Knights game. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of four goals scored on one power play. My Flames went out with a whimper, think I’ll cheer for Big Joe Thornton next. It’s a wide open field, especially if the Caps go down, too. 3-3 with 6:30 to go in the third.
  13. I think the first round seems to have the best hockey generally speaking. What a heartbreaker for Jets fans. And how exhilarating for Blues fans. The agony and the ecstasy.
  14. Not unhappy the Islanders won. They haven’t had much to cheer about since the glory days.
  15. Lightning are gonzo. Regular season means nothing if you are one of the 16 teams that make the dance.
  16. Isles/Pens game has been pretty good so far.

  18. I went to the August 31st show. I had a stroke in April of that year which caused me to miss the 2 Canadian dates I had tickets for. My friends all chipped in on tickets and flights to see Bruce in his backyard. It was a beautiful late summer evening. Met some Lakers that night but I’m not great with the names. One was Soul Fairy and the other that I remember was JoeZap. He gave my 3 friends and I a ride back from the after concert party in the parking lot to our hotel in midtown Manhattan.
