  1. How anyone can leave Magic out of their top 10 is beyond me...
  2. Could I request Detroit Medley with the "I Hear A Train" bridge section?
  3. I'd like to see None But The Brave get some love one of these tours...
  4. I keep my heart in my work, my troubles in my head And I keep my soul in Maria's bed
  5. I'm gonna have to go with The Promise version. Love the strings. But speaking of Passaic, I noticed that on 9/20/78, when Bruce was beginning the Thunder Road intro on harmonica, Roy seemed to be playing the first measures of Racing... Am I hearing this wrong?
  6. As a Western Pennsylvanian, I know. The outline of the logo represents the "Keystone" which is used to symbolize Pennsylvanias moniker "The Keystone State". The words "Steel City" are often used to describe the city of Pittsburgh as an ode to its industrial history. Also, the black and yellow coloring is used by all 3 of Pittsburghs professional sports teams. Joe is from the "Steel City" which is probably why Bruce wore it that night.
  7. Shoot. I've been messing up that lyric for all these years...
  8. I don't know about you, but when I picture Sleepy Joe's Cafe, I picture a little place in Southern California down Sandy Acre Way. I'd imagine that they play guitars there all night and all day.
  9. Not sure if anyone has suggested this yet or not, but I feel that Hitch Hikin was used as the opener as it tells the story of someone hitch hikin from the east coast to the west coast, which usually takes 3 days of heavy driving. At least that's what I imagine. So the song sets the stage for the rest of the album that takes place in the west.
  10. The album is great. Just finished the first listen and it ranks up there with Darkness and Magic in its ability to cut you to the core. I feel that the title track and Moonlight Motel are instant classics that could easily find their way on to a "Greatest Hits" album if he ever stops making hits!. Moonlight Motel really packs a punch that I was not expecting. I was noticing shades of the Drifters song Under the Boardwalk while listening to Sleepy Joe. Tuscon Train is your quintessential Springsteen song, but the strings elevate it above similar tracks like Save My Love in my opinion. The rest will take more time to digest, but it is great on first listen.
  11. Yeah well his studio takes are always quite sterile when compared to live versions, so this has probably happened a lot on various studio albums over the past 10 years or so. Even going back to Hungry Heart which was sped up to make his voice sound higher than it actually was. It doesn't bother me.
  12. chumbawamba Tubthumping One of the best albums of the 90's. Still sounds contemporary today.
  13. The thing with morello is, why can't Bruce feature his own unique style of guitar playing?
  14. It will be real frustrating if morello is all over the new album...
  15. It says new album in January? As a question. I don't know if I can make it till January.
  16. I'm excited! If Homestead is on the new album, that would definitely mean he is going to stop in Pittsburgh PA!
