  1. What a great thing to do, Rachel! I will be more than happy to donate as soon as it’s organised. And when we are able to travel again, the bench to remember Marsha would be the first and foremost reason for me and my husband to visit Asbury Park again, Bruce show or not. Thank you Rachel, and mods!❤️
  2. I’m also lighting a candle for our sweet wonderful friend tonight. I can feel her presence looking at the girl with lilies. She flew over the ocean as a birthday gift a long time ago, and she just took on a new meaning. But I still can’t believe that Marsha is not with us anymore. Thank you @Daisey Jeep for the idea of lighting a candle.
  3. Oh Rachel, that’s wonderful. I can’t listen either, but I’ll set the alarm and sing when I think it’s on. She’ll be dancing. Finally, she’ll be dancing. ❤️❤️❤️
  4. That’s a wonderful picture Rachel. She looks so happy. I just can’t believe that she’s gone. It’s not fair. She leaves an enormous hole in the hearts of everyone who loved her. And she was loved by so many. Family and friends, former students that she treated like her own children, everyone here. She was the most generous and kind person and a wonderful friend. There is no one like her. Thank you for posting, Rachel. And thank you Greasy Lake for bringing us together.
  5. Wow. Just wow. Catchy rocking E Street instant classic. And that video is sensational. Live footage of The Castiles! I had no idea that this exists. Very very moving. All those band members they lost. All the ghosts. And I´m not sure, but I think there´s also a glimpse of Obie in the audience midways in the video. Can anyone confirm? Thank you for posting and dumping the video!
  6. Thank you for the reminder. There is beauty in this world. And wonderful memories.
  7. Exactly. And there’s indeed a lot to learn. And then all the outtakes, the obscure unreleased material...We are lucky aren’t we?
  8. First of all: As @Daisey Jeep says, this is my first, and the show that made me a fan. My brother in law got me a ticket, I was standing in the middle of the crowd, without seeing the stage, without seeing more than the top of Bruce’s head on a screen. I didn’t recognise more than maybe 1/4 of the songs. But his magic worked, and struck me like a lightning. He spoke to me, and I felt chosen. And I walked out of that stadium, determined to study and learn his whole catalogue and come back, knowing every word of every song on the set list to my next show. But: I kind of wish that this fantastic show hadn’t been my first. I wish it had been my fifth or tenth or twentieth. Because much as I loved the show, I wasn’t really able to appreciate all the details, or the beautiful mix of songs from different eras.I knew nothing. I mean I hadn’t ever heard Thunder Road, or Jungleland, before, and didn’t have a clue what an emotional moment it was when Jake played that solo. I actually had no idea what I had witnessed. Only that it was pure greatness. A nice person from this forum sent me a bootleg from the show a couple of weeks later, so I was able to recap the songs, and by then I had already started my Springsteen education. By then I had at least learnt every word of Thunder Road. And Jungleland. I have many favourites, but I do have a special relationship with Jungleland. It’s a song that I still, almost eight years later, need to be alone with. It’s such a powerful experience.A private thing. I also need a minute of silence when it’s over, to catch my breath and get back to reality. It happened again when I listened to this much longed for archive release. I burst into tears over the vacuum cleaner in the bathroom. I drove home from Gothenburg with my son, who was a member of the Ullevi crew, one of the people who built and took down the stage. He had found this piece of paper on the floor after the all the instruments were removed. I almost drove off the road when he pulled it out.
  9. It is indeed, thank you @Paolo's Circus StoryI hope all is well with you too. I miss you lot, and I hope I’ll be able to see more of you soon. My family suddenly grew quite large again a while ago, and I don’t seem to have much time for myself at the moment. Thank you for remembering me!
  10. Thank you @Daisey Jeepfor thinking about me and forgiving me for my long absence. You are very kind and and generous. I promise to post my thoughts of this life changing show very soon.
  11. “The poets down here write nothing at all, they just stand back and let it all be.” this masterpiece is PACKED with epic lyrics!
  12. I read the article in Aftonbladet at work yesterday, and I’m pretty sure he said that he wasn’t going to play songs from Western Stars on the next tour. But hopefully the reporter misunderstood him. I can’t check today, because the article is locked behind a pay wall. Personally, I think that whatever he’s said, he might play a Western Stars song or two. On request or as a solo acoustic at the end of a show.
  13. There’s an interview with Bruce in a Swedish newspaper, where he says that yes, they are going to record an album and yes, they are going on tour. And asked if he’s coming to Sweden he says yes. Stockholm or Gothenburg, it doesn’t matter which city. ”Stockholm is a beautiful city”. This interview was made in London a couple of days ago. He also says that they are not going to play the Western Stars songs on the upcoming tour. ”That’s why I made the film”. It looks like the Ullevi rumour is based on the news that the stadium is available around Midsummer 2020. I’m holding all my thumbs and toes, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
  14. Wow, what an honour! I can hear the cheers across Europe, over the oceans and distant continents.Thank you!
  15. Wow.wow.wow. Nicky I mean errrrr Daisey, your brilliant radio show is dedicated to me! And what a dream show! You are a born entertainer. My retirement couldn’t have started better. I’m stunned, amazed, infinitely honoured. Thank you!
  16. It’s your birthday, @Daisey Jeep! I hope the coming year will bring a lot of good things to your life. Like maybe a Bruce show or two in your beautiful country? Lots of love from Sweden.
  17. So do I! Thank you Berlintramp. I bought the digital version, so I have it on iTunes, but I’ve only managed to listen to it once. I do want a cd to play in my car. And then go for a long drive. On my own. I need to be alone when I listen to Bruce.
  18. Now that’s an interesting theory! I might need to go and get my copy at the harbour when the slow boat arrives.
  19. My husband ordered a copy for me almost three weeks ago, and it hasn’t arrived yet. So it’s slacking, yes.
  20. Oh my dear friend @berlintramp thank you for thinking about me!Yes, @rosiejaneymary is right. I miss you all a lot. But it’s hard to find the time for social media at the moment. Family- and job- needs too much attention. No worries, I just need more than my two hands right now. I’ll be back. And yes, I’ve heard the single. I love it and I’m super excited for the album! Love you all!
  21. Lovely story @BrilliantDisguise! It’s fascinating how powerful the smell is. A small whiff can take you back decades in a second.
  22. The biggest yarn show in Australia!!!!!!! I’ll put that on my life goals list. And congratulations to Mrs G for her ystn purchase!
