  1. I really like this song and a great choice for the occasion delivered with respect and dignity. However I fear that the upcoming tour, if it ever happens, is going to show us a very different Bruce.
  2. My prediction is an OZ/NZ bubble tour to test the feasability of touring in Covid times. Allowing for reduced capacity and with some additional Winery dates thrown in to make the trip extra worthwhile I reckon a 30 gig mini tour is possible. Any thoughts?
  3. I know people enjoy their moment of fame dancing with Bruce or Gary or whoever. But my heart sinks when this segment starts knowing it will drag on for 10 minutes or longer. I don't feel that way about the other ever present songs. I guess I go to the concert to watch and listen to Bruce and the band not random members of the audience. Just my opinion.
  4. The interminable Dancing in the Dark every bloody time. I know it's a casual fan favourite but it wastes valuable stage time when Bruce could be singing at least 2 rarities. I'd be happy if I never heard it again (live anyway).
  5. I was lucky enough to see Michael being interviewed at the Woodford Folk Festival in 2019. I remember him coming across as a bit of a larrikin with a wealth of stories from decades in the music business. I recollect him talking about Bruce with considerable affection. I don't believe Bruce would ever have returned to Australia without Michael's intervention. Thanks Michael for my last 18 Bruce concerts and many others. RIP.
  6. Dancing in the Dark should be omitted from all future set lists. The Aussie leg of The River tour was a total yawn fest compared to the High Hopes and Wrecking Ball tours. High Hopes is not a bad album. I like This is your Sword. I'd swap Steve for Tommy any day of the week. Based on the last tour Bruce should take the horns and backing singers on his next outing to bring more life to the performance.
  7. Brisbane pit line currently at 93. Last roll call tonight 19:00.
  8. Were there bogans? Any place that shows women's MMA must be a bogan hang out.
  9. Does anyone have information on the Melbourne pit line? What time are the roll calls? I'm still a couple hundred Ks from Melbourne. Thanks.
  10. You can't play soccer with a Koala, or at any rate it's a lot more difficult! Sorry that was very un PC and I would never do it.
  11. Once you've seen the dinky di Aussie bogan in action you'll understand the need for this. It's not pretty. Not everyone wants to sit next to foul mouthed, beer swilling louts.
  12. That is a true blue Aussie fur seal, we also have the Kiwi kind. Apparently it is quite difficult for the layman to tell them apart Aussie ones tend to be bigger and darker coloured. Either way I wouldn't want it on my car.
  13. Me too, I only join the tour in Adelaide, perhaps we could arrange something at each stop so that the locals can meet the touring party.
  14. $99 seated tickets available now Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland. Frontier touring sale. No cheap GA at present,
  15. I just had an email from Frontier Touring regarding a 3 day "Early Boxing Day" members only sale. This runs from 12:00 AEDT 21st December to 12:00 AEDT 23rd December. No indication at present as to what is being offered but if they are really struggling to unload Bruce tickets it might be a chance for those still wanting tickets to save some money.
  16. That is great to know I have often wondered what the outcome was. I'm a First Aider myself so I know what the odds are like. St John members were doing a brilliant job.
  17. Agreed, I was very close to the front in Melbourne last time. It would be no place for claustrophobics I stood up for close to 9 hours with very little space to move. Luckily my neighbours were great. A guy near to me had a heart attack and the first aiders were doing CPR on him for 10 minutes or so, no idea if he made it but it didn't look good. Maybe I'll stay further back this time.
  18. I guess it depends whether being in the first couple of rows is important. I've never ended up more than about 8-10 rows back and that's even when I've turned up an hour or so before the concert. To me Bruce sounds just as good from 10 metres away as he does from touching distance. For Melbourne I will be definitely be joining the pit queue the day before or very early on concert day. It's a massive GA and you could finish up a very long way from the stage. Boondall (Brisbane) is in the outer suburbs about a 30 minute train ride from the CBD followed by a 10-15 minute walk to the venue, if you were doing multiple roll calls you'd probably just stay there all day. Problem is it's surrounded by bush and residential streets so not much to keep you amused. I wouldn't queue there for more than a day max. Personally if I'd travelled to the other side of the world, I'd be minimising the time spent in pit queues.
  19. Personally, I'd love to see Tom back next year. I thought he really added something to the band and he went down a storm at all the concerts I attended. I realise this opinion may not reflect that of all GL members! Sorry Daisey.
  20. Just picked up a GA for Hunter Valley on Ticketmaster. Now have a spare seated ticket.
  21. Ticket secured! Makes up for missing out on the first concert.
  22. Hell, what a panic, forgot Melbourne is an hour ahead of Brisbane, got back to the office with 5 minutes to spare and then couldn't find my password. Lucky its a big GA area. I need to lie down until the Sydney tickets go on sale, my heart is about to explode! Good luck everyone I hope you get what you need.
  23. I'm greatly looking forward to meeting Mr and Mrs CB and other Lakers from near and far next year.
  24. Front GA at AAMI stadium is massive, actually about half the playing surface so you can end up a long way from the stage. Easy to get tickets but to get close to the stage you need join the pit queue.
  25. Would Melbourne 2 be at a different venue? Surely they won't fill Aamii Stadium a second time.
