  1. I hope we get another all time great quote from Bruce at the age of 70 in the same way we did when he was 60. "GET ME AN ELEVATOR! I'M FUCKING SIXTY!"
  2. "This is a song my grandmother sang to me when I was a little baby." I consider everything when I'm making a thematic Springsteen birthday playlist .
  3. Same. I keep seeing the Vote For Change tour mentioned and I'm trying to work out if a show from 2004 would be a decent, potential release.
  4. I felt that something from the most recent album was important in relation to where his life is currently. "Motel" worked because I consider it the best song on the album and it serves as a nice bookend to "Thunder Road" and "Born to Run" and the rest of those stories that began forty years ago.
  5. Well I can't top Dasiey's radio talking format, so I'll join in by simply presenting a 2 hour playlist of songs that are thematic to his birthday, life and my Springsteen fandom. I think the structuring is alright and hopefully it's so good some of you actually put this together yourselves and play it I'm also happy to answer any possible "why did you include that?" questions.
  6. I read through the pages I missed while not posting and saw posts about me doing this, but I'm definitely not dramatic () and can take the bantz, so I'm continuing it - because I often like to see what I said about a show when writing a blog post and it's getting tiresome going back to page 290 or something.
  7. In the few minutes spent writing the post above I've really starting to think that the only way of truly seeing how good this show is for Nugs to release every show from 2005 onwards. Maybe then it might actually stand out above all others and not be underwhelming?
  8. I agree with all of this, in particular your point about the variety of 2012-2014. There's only two songs from this that don't have at least two official recordings released: "Then She Kissed Me" and "Little Queenie". As cool as these two rarities are, are they enough to sell this show as the best of that decade? Because performance-wise, it's not anything massively incredible. I still can't re-listen to "Rendezvous" in fear of getting another bad chest, it's really bad man. You mention 2009 and Live in Hyde Park is a fine example of that, playing "Good Lovin'" as he collects. Absolu
  9. In this new blog post, I look at why the St Louis 2008 release is so underwhelming given the hype of those in attendance on the night. https://cantfindtickets.wordpress.com/2019/09/21/previously-from-the-springsteen-archive-august-23rd-2008-st-louis-mo/
  10. I unfollowed him ages ago because of his tweets about the UK and Brexit. I mean, don't be trying to tell us what we should do when your own country is even more fucking backwards at the minute with Trump and everything else going on.
  11. It's not something I've thought about a lot, but this has just gone through my head so I'm gonna post it on this thread... I'll also preface it by saying I know I ramble a lot, so sorry in advance. Anyway, I haven't really given Bruce's upcoming birthday much thought other than the prospect of the hopeful, albeit unlikely, special Archive Series release on the day. However when I do read posts or tweets or whatever about it, it does get me thinking that in a couple of days I'll be a 22 year old whose favourite musician is 70, and I can't help but be a bit bothered by it. Now,
  12. It was definitely one of the better things to happen on this (and that) forum in 2019 for sure.
  13. Don't worry, I know that you're messing about for a daft laugh - I try to do the same - but even I have limits and the Vets show is off the table as far as misleading posts go hahaha. That Western Stars one was funny as fuck though, especially with those reactions from the "certain someone". He can be unbearable, him.
  14. Watched a bit of Live in New York City last night and had Chicago '99 playing in the gym today, so I'm all in on the possibility of a Reunion Tour show in two weeks time (or on Monday ). And by all in I mean I'd be happy to see any of the few shows they recorded released. Love that era.
  15. Your photoshopping skills are an amazing talent, but please don't use your talent for evil like this.
  16. The Wembley 2002 crack was driven into the ground fuckin' months back. There was absolutely no need to bring it up on any thread other than the Archive Rumours one, but some Lakers are garna do what they feel is right. I agree about "Dancing in the Dark": https://cantfindtickets.wordpress.com/2019/03/16/the-definitive-version-of-every-song-from-springsteens-archive-series-part-6/
  17. Sorry, I thought I was allowed to reminisce about some of the best times of my life. When I mentioned 2012 - 2014 I didn't just mean in regards to Springsteen.
  18. I thought he got banned months back? Like, almost immediately after his first or second post?
  19. Just to let you all know, I'm now of the personal opinion that Western Stars is a bang average album at best and I'm really longing for him to release another album similar to Wrecking Ball, because that's my Bruce Springsteen. 2012 - 2014 really were the best of times, man.
