No, you're missing the point. If he's never met better, others he's met could still be equally good.  Just not better. I can't believe I'm having this conversation.

Next up, we're doing Waves Vs Sways.  Again.

A bloke nips up to the RSL for a few minutes to blow the froth off a couple, and comes in to find that the most important thread on the forum has been neglected.

On topic, I can tell you there is no perennially open church in the centre of Australia.

But it'd sure be fun to tell folk there is.  Set em off on a wild goose chase...

    ;)

I thought that. Rather odd but tequila seems to be a very important part of the recent image. Wouldn’t have thought alcohol and cars were the most ideal of bedfellows.

It's all part of meeting in the middle; You got to listen to drink drivers AND tee totallers, anti-vaxers AND scientists, flat earthers AND Galileo, Sandy Hook parents AND conspiracy theorists...

    /S off

  4. I am very conficted by this.

My first reaction on seeing the news was... Bruce in a commerical? Not cool.

Havign watched it, it is moving, and strong.  But I just wish Jeep had been big enough not to use thier logo at the end.  There was product placement, and the hype this ggenerates would have been enough to ensure they got the recognition they are looking for...

    YMMV

Save Your Love was a highlight that night - and that is only amplified on playback by the venue; Australian crowds are notoriously quiet mid-song, and the new Perth Arena has spot on acoustics, so the reverb on Suzie's violin elevates this song to something very special.  Great review!

  6. Lakers, can anyone point me to a transcript of the rest of this voice-over:

“Age brings perspective and the fine clarity one gets at midnight on the tracks, looking into the lights of an oncoming train. It dawns on you rather quickly: There’s only so much time left. Only so many star-filled nights, snowfalls, brisk fall afternoons, rainy midsummer days.”

I'd like to cut and paste it into an FB post without having to write it all out myself....

There was a doco called Glory Days that even made it onto TV here in Australia that was basically promoting the Live 75-85 box set. It didn't feature any TOL songs but featured an array of other delicious delicacies such as snippets from the 78 Phoenix Prove It clip, Thunder Rd from Largo 78 and LA 85, Sandy from Hammersmith,  Jungleland and Quarter To Three from 78, a swag of stuff from LA 85 (snippets from BITUSA, This Land Is Your Land, Darkness, No Surrender, Growin Up and more including almost a full Johnny 99).

It was interview format featuring Bruce and the band. I had no idea who the interviewer was at the time ( he was British), but I think I learnt here that it was David Hepworth.

That doco was on YouTube for a while, but I remember it was hard to find... basic key words like ' Bruce doco' or even 'David Hepworth Springsteen doco' and so forth wouldn't bring it up, if anyone knows whether it's still on there please post the link. It's still probably my favourite Bruce documentary,  I wore my VHS copy of it out back in the day.

    This one?

I have the soundtrack to that show as a vinyl boot!

Coca Cola no sugar is Coca Cola Zero elsewhere

seems an odd thing to have a run on would have expected bottled water or long life milk

    Almost.

We used to have Coke Zero - they took it away almost two years ago, and replaced it with "No Sugar"

Different recipe - not as strong, much to my chagrin...
