  1. Kay he is worth the deeper look. Genuinely. If you follow him on IG he does not take himself very seriously. Yes he has said and done some moronic things in the past but haven't we all? I don't know if you listened to the track I posted above, but here is another personal favourite, this from the last studio album. The lyrics to this one hit me like a ton of bricks. If I knew how to write songs I could have written this, word for word. He says this is one of the most personal songs he has ever written.
  2. No kidding I have an audio rip of this I listen to in the car often. Its a near perfect little acoustic set this. And the people in that room... Man.
  3. Silvia he will still respect you in the morning. Probably...
  4. What I’d give to see this line up on one stage in one night... wow.
  5. I see they are playing Japan soon. No chance of seeing them here.... I don't know anyone else here who knows him or the band.
  6. Jason does one of the best covers I've ever seen, and that is when he sings Pancho & Lefty. There is a specific live version I can no longer find on YT but which I fortunately was able to pull the audio from some years ago that is just sublime. One of the best intros ever... "This may just be the greatest country and western song anyone has ever written... I Never wrote it... But I've written it down"
  7. I confess I listen to it more than the studio version of the album. Especially Racing... Man I love that version.
  8. In 2009 they released a DVD/Blu Ray of an album played 'live' to an empty venue... No one thought that was strange?
  9. I downloaded some mp3s from a few shows, I was particularly keen to hear the new song Overseas and the song from the Lady Gaga movie which I have not heard. Sound is not spectacular, but better than bootleg quality for sure. Always seems to be a ton of reverb at 400 Unit shows for some reason.
  10. Kay did you see my thread over in the 'other artists' section? Isbell shows are now available to download on Nugs. I am hoping for a Ryman run pack.... a digital box set, so to speak... Holding thumbs.
  11. As I said, I experienced it hear as well recently. We must be a bunch of dum dums too.
  12. My FIL, a sound engineer, calls that style of singing 'white sticking'...
  13. I am so with Lampi on this... I've always thought Moondance was a more enjoyable listen than Astral Weeks. And I LOVE Van. And I would consider Moondance no less a 'masterpiece' than AW.
  14. Looking more and more likely that this is going to be my only option.... I jut really hope there is one.
  15. I applaud the TV when Alan wins an episode of QI... ‘orses for courses?
  16. I went to a Roger Waters live concert film a couple of weeks ago. At the end, the small audience in the theater applauded spontaneously. I imagine in test screenings of WS people clapped after each song because they were live performances and probably pretty good ones too.
  17. Announced yesterday. 7 shows to start with, all fairly recent. Hopefully they will start working backward through the archives.... Also looks like you can purchase individual songs. https://www.nugs.net/jason-isbell-and-the-400-unit-concerts-live-downloads-in-mp3-flac-or-online-music-streaming/
