  1. Looks like the court ruling has gone in his favour. Djokovic in my opinion has no business playing the open but that should have been made clear before he landed there.
  2. Always been one of my favourites. Prefer the later versions to the 70's and 80's versions
  3. Just finished Bodyguard, the British serial and not the Kevin Costner movie. For some reason I had not seen this earlier. Really enjoyed it
  4. Great Bowling by Patel who was incidentally born in Mumbai after his heroics along with Rachin Ravindra in saving the first test. The dismissal of Virat Kohli was well weird to say the least as he had clearly inside edged and how could the third umpire not overturn is beyond me. Vettori was convinced of the inside edge as well. Cant understand why India did not enforce the follow on. More teams these days do not enforce and apparently its due to what happened in Kolkata years ago when Steve Waugh asked India to bat again and had few quick wickets in the second innings before Dravid and Laxman batted the entire day and finally Harbhajan spun out the Aussies on the last day. Teams are scared of chasing even small total batting last especially if the wicket turns a bit. In this pitch there is a fair bit of turn but not something that's impossible to contend as Mayank Aggarwal showed.
  5. Yes, he is getting it for me along with the Obama/Springsteen book. Though he is my cousin, we all grew up in the same place so we are very close. Yup, he is here for 2 months . He is a bigger fan of NBA and EPL than cricket.
  6. Not yet out here, but my cousin has picked it up in Canada and he is landing here this Sunday. Have to wait another 6 days.
  7. Team batting second does have an advantage in T20s unless the conditions change dramatically. Great win for Australia as well
  8. Visiting my brother in Ottawa next year so hope Canada is in the mix. He too is familiar with quite a bit of Bruce's music and most importantly would love to take my 5 year old who already knows a few of his songs. Have stopped wishing for India to be part of the schedule as JLM's idea of the world these days seem to be Western Europe, Australia/NZ, United States and Canada
  9. Congrats!! Remarkably consistent performance from New Zealand. Dare i say cheated of the 50 over world cup, won the Test Championship and now in the finals of T20. Why they are hardly ever spoken as one of the favorites before any tournament begins beats me.
  10. Congrats to NZ. At the end of the day the 2 best teams from the group made it through
  11. Yes, its been disappointing. Not that Pakistan and New Zealand were expected to be easy wins but no one expected the kind of start we had. Even before the tournament started, there were questions on the selection as few of the guys were not in the best of form and guys who had good IPL like Chahal and Siraj were not picked. Dont think its a matter of conditions anymore. We did well in England which is more challenging. Could be bit of fatigue as Doc has stated and also the pressure these guys go through is terrible. Not sure how many people appreciate the difficulty of being a cricketer in India in this age of faceless trolls. A small percentage may always been there but today there is an outlet for them and no matter how insulated you try to be, it will reach the players. Shami was abused after the Pakistan match which requird Kohli to step in and issue a statement on religion. Then Kohli's 9th month daughter too was pulled in abusive tweets which showed what kind of depraved, sick people are there. Tendulkar has always stated that his batting style chnaged after his injuries and surgeries but i always thought that advent of social media and also 24 hour new channels who just want a story may have contribued to this too. Hoping that NZ lose badly to Afghanistan but for the nice guys they are supposed to be, they have not been good to us in any World vup march.
  12. True. That is we were hoping right till the end the other day. Reading some of the comments from Pakistan, I feel like taking back my comments about one team losing in a sport and accepting defeat gracefully. Pakistan Interior minister said that its a victory of Islam and that all Muslims including those in India were rooting for Pakistan. A very mischievous attempt to drive a wedge between Muslims and Non muslims in India. While these are expected from a politician , to hear Waqar Younis say that the most satisfying part of the victory was to see Rizwan reading namaaz in front of Hindus was shocking. Now sports has also become about religion
  13. Yes. Pakistan is playing very well, especially their bowling seems potent
  14. Seems like Quniton De kock is out as he refused to take the knee before the match
  15. Nope. No Pakistani Players. Were there for the first couple of editions. Then one year, they all went unpicked which to me seemed to be in bad taste. If you invite someone then pick them or be upfront and say that currently we do not wish to have you as part of IPL till your govt behaves
  16. Think he did mention in the interview with Obama that he will in Germany in 2022, so European tour is on. Hope there is Asia thrown in as well
  17. Was it only for little over 9 minutes when aired there or longer? Not sure if this other interview has been posted elsewhere. Apologies if it has. So Bruce kinda confirms that he will in Germany in 2022
  18. yes... Losing by 10 wickets is not something anyone expected. However, Pakistan have a terrific bowling line up and are capable of going far if they play to their potential. Their temperament is what usually is suspect but they handled the chase beautifully yesterday. As Virat mentioned in the post match conference we were totally outplayed. Was nice to see the camaraderie after the match between the players. Hope some stupid fans do not go overboard in spewing usual venom on social media as at the end of the day in sports one team is bound to lose even if you try your best.
  19. India V Pakistan on now. All roads in India and maybe Pakistan too must be deserted. Nothing gets bigger than this in this part of the world. India is 12-0 in all world cup matches against Pakistan so far but its Pakistan who have a made start today
  20. And another disappointing year for RCB. Finished 4th again. Bangalore and Chennai have this running battle going on and while CSK get the better of us in IPL, Karnataka (Bangalore is the capital of Karnataka) routinely get the better of Tamil Nadu. Maybe new captain as Virat has announced that he will not be leading the team next year will bring in a change of fortunes. Its widely expected that local lad K.L Rahul will be picked up next year and made to lead, if not, it could be AB Develliers. Looks like only AB, Virat and Glen Maxwell will be retained for next year as no team can retain more than 4. Rahul Dravid who has been with the Indian Junior team and has worked with several youngsters who are now in the Indian team has been made the coach of Indian team. Rahul is a very dedicated , focused guy and very different from the outgoing coach Ravi Shastri .Not sure if all players will like having Rahul though it will be good for Indian cricket
  21. Bryan Adams is pretty popular amongst women and many casual listeners. i still like some of his songs of Reckless. His first show in India was in Bangalore back in 2001 and personally a disappointing one. There were 50k fans inside and maybe an equal number outside. Had to walk long distance to reach the venue as the roads were all jammed and finally the sound sucked. Living in Bangalore, we were lucky to get other big artists like Rolling Stones, Metallica, Scorpions, Aerosmith, Elton John, Sting, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden,Roger Waters(Twice) here. Sadly i was not in town when the one guy i wanted to see most , other than Bruce of course, Mark knopfler player here in 2005. The shows were all in the grounds of Bangalore Palace but now due to govt restrictions no shows can be held there and all concerts incl U2 are in Mumbai. Really miss the golden period between 2001 to 2011
  22. As stated earlier Bruce did perform in Delhi during the Amnesty Tour. I missed it for 2 reasons- Dad was in hospital and air travel those days was ridiculously expensive and you always thought that he will come some day. I might still have article from one of the popular magazines back then which called it the Bruce Springsteen night. Bruce came on stage past midnight and rocked the house and met a few people who were at the show and they called it the best show they have ever seen. The show was marred by controversy between Times of India which kind of played the whole show as part of their 150th anniversary and Amnesty. I actually dont like both the organisations. Bruce was huge here back then, still has many dedicated fans and will easily fill a cricket stadium
  23. If AmazonIndia or the other Indian online company Flipkart don't have it, then I usually order from Hdwow... Works out lot cheaper for me as they do not charge shipping
  24. Must say the trailer has left me more excited than I have been for a while. Thanks to the plethora of videos on YouTube and online streaming these days I don't have the same level of anticipation as before, but this has got me excited.
  25. Thanks Daisey for drawing my attention to this. Just finished watching.. Wonderful watch. Its tragic what happened to him. Always had that aura of invincibility about him, though during his days I was supporting the 2 Finns, first Hakkinen and then Raikkonen. His generosity is also something that is not often mentioned.. Or shd atleast get more attention. The guy is supposed to have donated 10 million dollars during 2004 Tsunami apart from several other huge donations.
