  1. New USA Soundscan figure for the 'Wrecking Ball' album.....as of Nov 17, 2013 it has scanned 506,000. The last Soundscan figure for this album that leaked out was in Dec 2012 (491,000), so it has only scanned about 15,000 over the past 11 months...it seems the USA sales for this album really died off quickly. --------------------------------------
  2. I haven't seen the Hard Rock Calling gig among Billboard's Boxscores yet. Maybe it'll turn up next week. 3. Springsteen placing 12 albums within the Top-85 of the Irish Album Chart in the same week.....I'd need to research it to be 100% sure but I suspect "12 within the Top-85" ranks 2nd or 3rd (depending on how one looks at it) all-time to the two below-noted Irish album chart feats by U2. U2.....12 albums within the Top-60 during a week in Sep 2001 U2.....11 albums within the Top-70 during a week in Jul 2005

  9. "Wrecking Ball" album has been getting a small sales bounce in Europe, nothing significant though. Yes, the 'Wrecking Ball' totals on PG-1 of this thread are up to date. Album has sold around 1.51 million (retail) to date, give or take 50k. The 'Wrecking Ball' album is now very close to Double Platinum (PLAT x 2) in Ireland, in fact it might already have passed it - maybe there will be some further info about that when the current tour reaches Ireland.
  10. "Wrecking Ball" had Soundscanned 490,171 thru Dec 31, 2012 in the USA. No more recent soundscan figure has leaked but by now it'll definitely be over 500,000 retail (I'd guess around 505k-510k retail)...probably close to 550k wholesale (the cert, of course, being based on wholesale). So it's just a matter of Sony/Columbia applying to the RIAA for the cert. They (Springsteen camp) probably don't have it as a priority task. It could happen tomorrow - or it could be months.

  17. Some Tour/Sales-related news from AUSTRALIA......... Springsteen's new compilation Lp, 'Collection: 1973 - 2012', has jumped up in the Australian sales chart from #15 in Week-1 to #8 in Week-2. In New Zealand the album rises from #30 to #24. 18. The new, Australia & New Zealand - only (at this point, at least) compilation LP "Bruce Springsteen: Collection: 1973-2012" has opened at #15 in the Australian Album Sales Chart, with Week-1 sales of roughly 2,500 copies. The album has opened at #30 in the New Zealand Album Sales Chart.

  21. CANADA..........Top-10 best selling albums of 2012 (official Soundscan Canada list and sales below).....Soundscan's full list is a Top-100 - but it seems only the top-10 info is circulating. To make matters quite confusing - there is another, different, "2012 Year-End" list that has been released by Billboard Canada ("Wrecking Ball" is #54 on that list). While Billboard's list uses Soundscan's sales data, the Billboard rankings are for the 12-month tabulation period Dec 2011 thru Nov 2012.....whereas the official Soundscan list is for the true calendar year tabulation period (Jan 2012 thru Dec 2012). Consequently there are significant differences between the two lists in terms of rankings. Rank....Album......Artist..................................Retail Sales (Jan 2012 thru Dec 2012) 01...21...Adele......................................................457,000............+ "21" was #1 the previous year (938,000 sold in 2011) 02...Red...Taylor Swift..........................................240,000 03...Up All Night...One Direction..........................234,000 04...Babel...Mumford & Sons...............................212,000 05...Sans Attendre...Celine Dion..........................209,000 06...Home....One Direction...................................184,000 07...Believe...Justin Bieber...................................179,000 08...Star Academie 2012...Various Artists............156,000 09...Rod Stewart....Merry Christmas Baby...........135,000 10...Old Ideas...Leonard Cohen...........................132,000 "Wrecking Ball" has come in at #54 on Billboard's unofficial list.....but on the official Soundscan list it is likely "Wrecking Ball" has ended somewhere in the #40 - #50 range....hopefully the full Soundscan rankings will be released, instead of just their Top-10 (above).

  23. Assuming your sales figure for the US is correct, I'd say the only reason we don't have ourselves a gold certification is that somebody's slackin' off...JLM or Sony perhaps.... The 'Wrecking Ball' album has now passed 500k (wholesale) in the USA - so a "Gold" Award should be coming soon (pending the audit process). The RIAA will be announcing new Feb-Mar sales awards later this week, so "Wrecking Ball" might be among them. Springsteen's "Essential" album is probably also due for a USA upgrade certification. According to USA Soundscan it had sold 967k (retail) as of July 2010 and I'm very confident it would have moved passed the 1 million mark in the 31 months since then. However Sony has released about 40 different albums from its artist roster as part of that "Essential" Album Series and nearly half of those titles are now in need of a certification upgrade. So Sony may wait and upgrade all those "Essential" album certs at the same time.
  24. .....Bruce getting a tour-related sales spike as he heads downunder The "Wrecking Ball" album has just been certified GOLD (35,000+) in AUSTRALIA.....and has re-entered the national sales chart this week (#82). Also this week - two of Springsteen's music video's ("Live In Hyde Park" and "Complete Video Anthology: 1978-2000") have re-entered Australia's Music Video Sales Chart.
