I'm surprised there's not a topic like this. Anyway... Moonrise Kingdom.

Finally saw Three Billboards this weekend. Excellent flick!   I have never seen Frances McDormand be any less than outstanding, in any role she assumes.

Saw these two last night:

MV5BMTQ4MTM1MjU0NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTYwNzIw

Insomnia (2002), an incredible psychological thriller.

Al Pacino as a homicide detective who goes to Alaska to try and solve the murder of a 17 year old girl. Great performances by him, Robin Williams, and a very good one by Hilary Swank.

and

One Hour Photo (2002)

MV5BYWVkMjAzY2QtZTA4Yi00OWZmLTliMzctZTky

Starring Robin Williams in one of the best portraits ever in a film of true loneliness and isolation,

where people make strangers they don't really know as much more in their mind, as well as his own personal madness.

Robin Williams was such a great actor and he played bad creepy guys really well

remember that one where he works in a film developing place ?

creepy

but id rather remember him for gis comedy and making people laugh

yes I'd never seen One Hour Photo before.

I've watched Insomnia a couple times now, I love it so much. I watched One Hour Photo two nights in a row.

I like some of his comedy, he could be extremely funny, but it's his dramatic acting when it comes to movies that I greatly prefer.

Australia - left it on while doing other things cos it was weird - watched the end to see what happened.

Enigma - kept thinking I'd seen it before so I probably have. Ok but silly end … that's the bit I remembered, probably cos it's so silly.

We went to see Mrs Lowry and Son on Tuesday. I really enjoyed it....very small cast and ( mainly) a very short time frame. Vanessa Redgrave was brilliant.

Amongst the trailers was the one for Downton....it looks almost comically pathetic....almost satirical.

If you like the TV series, you'll like the film … all the old favourites. Lots of smiles in it - all daft,  just pure, light, entertainment.

It's a pleasant way to pass a bit of time. If it's 'substance' you're after, give it a wide berth.

You would, Daisey. Both are portrayed very nicely. Probably too nicely.

Maggie's a hoot as usual.

Joseph Molesley (valet/footman) made me laugh out loud!

Two of my favorite horror movies

106828_large.jpg?t=1404282381

The Invisible Man

and Bride Of Frankenstein.

Masterpieces, I love them.

That's one genre I just can't get into. My son loves them and he says Bride of Frankenstein is his favourite.
