What's the last film you sat & watched?

So this was my first time seeing Atlantic City, from 1980,

starring Burt Lancaster and Susan Sarandon.

Good movie.

But I never knew...Bruce got the idea for the chorus for the song Atlantic City from a line in the movie Atlantic City! I had NO idea of any connection between the song and this movie regardless of the title.

It was pretty good, it was okay. (hard to believe it was based on a real story but it was) Spielberg's debut movie BTW.

A lot of divided opinion about it, but then there always is of course everywhere about every movie.

This past night:

Bull_Durham_film_poster.jpg

My first time seeing Bull Durham.

Good film, enjoyable.

(and the luckiest thing to ever happen to Tim Robbins, as he met Susan Sarandon when making this)

Heaven_can_wait_poster.jpg

Heaven Can Wait (1978). My first time seeing this in many years, only saw it once before.

Again, enjoyable film, decent, some escapism. Some laughs early on.

I watched Grease with my sister. We were both giggling over how impossibly beautiful Travolta was and what a great dance, too. The guy had liquid hips, (which might not sound great but is the best way to describe his moves).

My wife can recite every single word from Grease. I mean every word of it literally. Its quite insane.

My roommates and I are doing a Halloween Movie Binge! Last night was Cabin in the Woods, tonight's a bunch of Halloween-themed cartoon movies from when we were kids.

As far as actually seeing in a theater, I saw Halloween 3: Season of the Witch last Friday (it wasn't terrible!)

well last night I was too tired to watch another film after The Postman Always Rings Twice,

so I figured today I would watch The Asphalt Jungle.

But instead I found myself in the mood to try watching, for the first time...

LASSIE COMES HOME!!!!!! :)

Oh I TOTALLY loved this movie, just beautiful.

MV5BMjE4Nzc0MDQxMl5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNTk2

saw it on TCM On Demand.

Starring Roddy McDowell, and Elizabeth Taylor in her second movie, well actually Lassie starred then Roddy as Joe, and then the rest were just co-stars at most.

Loved that Elsa Lanchester was in this as Joe's mother though.

Most importantly the movie was very heartwarming, I loved it.

Absolutely beautiful film. Very moving!

MAGNIFICENT movie against mob mentality and vigilante violence.

Spencer Tracy is just fantastic in this as John J. Macreedy,

a one-armed man visiting a small town that is hostile to him (to put it mildly) for reasons at first unknown to him, an innocent man just going there.

Sort of like you reciting most every word to a Bruce song?

We Are What We Are is a great film and would work for Halloween, too.

The lass from No.2 came over for a chat last night and, as I know she likes films, I asked if she'd seen La La Land.

She hadn't … so we did. She enjoyed it almost as much as I did … no matter how many times I see it I love it.

She mentioned the difference between the way both couples sat in the bar at the end - hadn't really given that much thought til now.
