What's the last film you sat & watched?

Recommended Posts

Last night, the most depressing movie we have ever saw. But Phoenix needs a award. Never been this uncomfortable at a show ever.

BTW: did Joaquin Phoenix put on a great performance or was he just being himself? :P

A masterpiece.

MV5BMjQyNGY1NGEtNjVkNC00MDAyLTg5NTgtNjk3

Jane Eyre.

From 1943, starring Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine. With Peggy Ann Garner as Jane as a child, and also an uncredited young Elizabeth Taylor.

Gothic, beautifully filmed, and a classic film for the loveless and unfriended.

and recently also,

I saw for the first time in too many years,

a bigger masterpiece,

one of the greatest and most beautiful films ever made:

MV5BNDVkYmYwM2ItNzRiMy00NWQ4LTlhMjMtNDI1

Sunrise from 1927. Considered by many the greatest silent film ever made and one of the greatest films period.

Janet Gaynor won the first Academy Award ever for a woman, for a leading actress in it.

A story with real heart and beauty. Dreamlike in its visual beauty at times.

MV5BMTYzMjEyNzQ4OV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMjgz

A must for any film buff to see in their lifetime. An absolute must.

The last movie I remember seeing at a  cinema was quite a long time ago.

There's was this huge fish that felt totally compelled to swim around and eat people...

I did see The Passion, not as depressing as the Joker.

Saw Official Secrets yesterday.

I thought it was very good (especially as I couldn't remember how the court case ended). It is a true story of Katherine Gunn, a translator employed at GCHQ. She leaked a memo to The Observer newspaper in an effort to prevent the Iraq war.

On another note I am sad that our local Picture House is closing in January. We still have an Everyman, but their tickets are at least twice the price. I suspect it means we will be watching more films on TV, which is a shame as I enjoy a trip to the cinema.

I made a thread about this.

I didn't see it when it was in the theaters here but I'm definitely going to check it out when it comes to On Demand.

Great film, great action, great drama. Acting a bit questionable in spots, but over all entertaining

Image result for black and blue
