What's the last film you sat & watched?

Recommended Posts

Just watched Polar Express. To me an all time great holiday film. I have the most endearing memory of a daddy night out with my 5 year daughter seeing this in the theater. Her wide eyes when Santa makes his appearance. It gets me every damn time. I guess maybe that's the idea.

I now saw one of the most overrated, worthless pieces of shit I have EVER seen. Sleep-inducing crap that's critically acclaimed.

Two hours of my life I'll never get back.

My last, most recent films I've watched:

MV5BYjY0ZTYwZjItMGU5ZS00ZDU5LWI1OWEtNzg2

Baby Doll for the first time.

Fantastic, crazy film. Wild, bizarre.

This and Wild River are my favorite Kazan movies right now.

hmm I know we missed a few days on here (4?) but there's a few days' posts missing. I recall posting about On The Waterfront before....I think.

MV5BYmE0OTE5NWItMGYyZi00MzUxLWFjN2QtYzBk

Judy.

A great movie, not flawless (I didn't like the Hollywood idea of an ending), but an exceptional portrait of someone who life has been destroyed and is just barely able to survive, cannot sleep, needs money, and is being battered around emotionally and always has been.

Also a great display of what happened to her when young, and a great indictment of Louis B. Mayer and the way the industry treated child stars, treated Judy. Incredible performance by Renee Zellweger as the adult Judy.

I need to see this again soon.

Really enjoyed this.  I wish the ending was how it really happened.

The more I think about it the more I think this has been my favourite film of the year, but I was initially a bit underwhelmed by the ending. Obviously I've reviewed it and I've explained why I was in here if you or anyone else wants to check it out: https://cantfindtickets.wordpress.com/2019/12/02/film-review-once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood-2019/

Elf is a big hit in this family!  We even have some Elf ornaments on the tree.

Put this on last night.  Even though Rotten Tomatoes liked it, I fell asleep to it.  Going to try again tonight.
