The Official Kilkenny July 28th Night #2 EuroCATListvision thread

Recommended Posts

He said "The older you get, the more it means" and went on to talk about how much he enjoyed this tour although they have lost people along the way in recent times. He seemed genuinely emotional as he spoke.

He then repeated it- "The older you get, the more it means".

Just beautiful.

Great show. Some gems in there. 4 gigs in 2 weeks has been hectic but so enjoyable.

Highlights TPYP in Cork, Thunder Road Cork, Drive All Night last night, This Hard Land Tonight

It's been emotional but looking forward to the next dance

Great show tonight. And last night's was no slouch either. Did anyone else feel that he got quite emotional during 'This Hard Land'? Thought his voice cracked on several occasions. And what happened to his finger? Looked quite bloody during the last song. Also noticed that, as he left the stage, he lingered at the top of the stairs with his back to the audience for a little longer. Just taking it in I suppose. Wonder what went on when he gathered everyone into a huddle before BitUSA. Perhaps just thanking them before the tour's last encore.

One thing I don't see mentioned here is that, after telling the crowd that they'd seen the hard rockin, pants-droppin' etc., E Street Band, he delivered a variation on that spiel but it was paying tribute to the 'ticket seekin' line formin', flight bookin' burger eatin' E Street Fans insted. I thought it was a really nice touch for the band to give a little back to the fans. I'm sure someone will have the full content of it but it was lovely to see.

All in all, a great 10 days or so in Ireland. Think last night's show was a lot more fun than tonight but maybe tonight's set was better. God, why even try to compare.

Til the next time...

Thanks to all contributors and people I met at my special 3 Bruce figs this year and to SLV of course. Our man needs a break but will be back God willing. As to when?........I suspect not next year. Blimey, how I hope I'm wrong on that score.

Does anyone have anymore info on the fans tribute ??

This looks very like the T-Shirts we got made up that Nils tweeted on, it would be quite a thing if we influenced a bit of the show like that

And what happened to his finger? Looked quite bloody during the last song.

It looked like he pulled off his nail or something- he put his finger in his mouth and looked like he bit down and tore off something! He did grimace and got a towel to wipe it but it continued to bleed heavily enough! Looked sore. He kept going though!

Interested to know if any people who went to the 5 Ireland shows were disappointed he did a second BTR rather than Darkness? I do feel for them somewhat. There was a lot of people that I met in the pit queue in Belfast who were off to all five. I really thought he would have done what he did in England where he did a different LP at each show.

Only 1 BITUSA but 2 BTR's. Anybody who has a problem hearing Born to Run straight through has problems or has maybe seen too many shows. The emotion of Backstreets and then Meeting into Jungleland it doesn't really get better in my opinion.

By the way, I was at the 5 Irish shows.

As a newcomer to the Lake, I just want to say thanks to everyone who has posted set lists and really useful info about the gigs (pit lane logistics, etc.) as well as all of the great chat and banter. This has really enhanced my experience and enjoyment of the shows this summer. In KK last night for the final show...uplifting, honest, passionate, powerful, and fun!

Until the next time, thanks again Lakers, you really added enormously to my E Street experience!

The Gig was incredible. I took my kids for two of them it was the first concert experience! They got on the big screen during born to run, and that just made the night for them. If anyone has any videos I would love to see them! And finally casino nancy you are not the only one that cried during this hard land I was blubbering like a baby! Stay Hard, stay hungry, Stay alive! (Heading to the tattoo thread now :-)!

I saw BTR at Coventry and LImerick and would happily see it again at next show. Works the best of all the albums for a stadium show IMO. I loved Darkness at Wembley but didn't have the energising effect on the crowd that BTR has.Never heard Backstreets live before this tour , now heard it twice!!

The tribute buce spoke was indeed the words off the t-shirt! It was very very touching.

He did get mt.banner on night one, also signed by as many fans as I could find during roll calls (and that can be tricky.... We all know)

It said

European wrecking ball tour when 1+1=3. Thanks for your rock and soul.

The two Muppets will update the blog asap. This time round it was a lot of hard travelling, very little sleep, frayed tempers but also glorious generosity and comradery.

Thanks to all lakers for slv, to all fans for sharing and caring and casino nancy for predicting that Cardiff would be the show of the tour.

Great show last night again. Delighted to hear man at the top and wild billys circus. Although to hear Bruce say "We will be back again and again and again....." was worth it alone. Also great to hear him thank the E Street Fans.

A few Italians behind me the first night started giving out stink about Born In The U.S.A. Full Album being played. Credit to the man beside me who tuned around and fold them to "shut the F up" Told them to leave if they wanted and their whinging was ruining it for the people around us.

SetListVision has been a delight throughout these two years - thanks to all who pitched in.

I'm sure we will find enough to talk and speculate about in the months to come: When will THE DVD be released, which one will it be (full concert, various locations, a BitUSA box) what new material is he working on - and on and on and on.

:)

So glad to have found you on the Lake, even if we haven't met in person, I feel I know and like a lot of you.
