The Black Keys were really the masters of 2011. Fame at last ! And all that comes with it, including the bad side, such as touring in larger venues. I saw them for the first time in 2012, in a Lyon arena, and I had the sad feeling it was a tour too late ! I would have loved to hear and see them in a smaller venue. Big as they are now, I'm afraid they'll never downscale, and I'll never bother going to one of their shows again. I think "El camino" is the only album that make your list and mine, V.

Black Joe Lewis : Scandalous.

Tom Waits : Bad as me.

The Jayhawks : Mockingbird time.

Steve Earle : I'll never get out of this world alive.

Sallie Ford and the Sound outside : Dirty radio.

The Black Keys : El camino.

The Kills : Blood pressures.

North Mississippi Allstars : Keys to the kingdom.

Not many CDs that year, but I really like(d) them all.

Bruce Springsteen : Wrecking ball. Three years old already... I've got mixed feelings about it. I like the angry Bruce, I like the mixture ESBand/Seeger that some hate, and I think some of the songs are among the best Bruce ever wrote ("We are alive", "Jack of all trades"...) But the production really mars it for me, and I don't think much of the new version of "Land of hope and dreams".

Zebda : second tour.

Deuce : 33, place Bellecour.

Jack White : Blunderbuss.

Bob Dylan : Tempest.

Neil Young : Psychedelic pill.

Alabama Shakes : Boys and girls.

The Jim Jones Revue : The savage heart. (album of the year to me)

Chris Robinson Brotherhood : Big moon ritual.

Steve Forbert : Over with you.

And my 2015 addition: Richard Thompson-Still.

At this moment I would say: a good album, not one of his best albums, nor of his worst. (Not that RT has ever made a bad regular studio album, even his worst albums are still 6/10 (IMO)).

But the constant quality of his work, for more than 40 years now, with a few really great albums the past 15 years or so; it is really impressive.
