Shame that the rat boy left you for a bigger club isn't it! And then got better still!

Not at all. We feel truely blessed to have had him for the period that we did.

His achievements since make us really proud.

Why would anybody turn a move to Madrid down?

They won it 10 times (sic) you know?

3 premier league titles and one champions league for United, and 1 la liga and one champions league for madrid. Tons of individual honours. The best footballer to wear a red shirt of any club.

Not good enough for the top 4, simple as that. Had a great run but you can't just fix a bad start like that. Let's win the FA Cup to end the season on a high.

problem with that logic is even if you beat Blackburn and villa one faces a certain team called Arsenal in the final - at this rate 7th spot and no euro footie is the most likely destination.

You would take 7th over 6th every single day of the week.

Teams should be given the option to sell their spot in that toy town tournament down to any mug team desperate enough to dust off their passports.

Brendan is denying he had a crisis meeting with the team post Arsenal but surely there can be no denying that the way Man U and Arsenal unpicked LFC with such ease must be truly earth shattering for Rodgers......and I would imagine the Yanks are surely at least half thinking that Brendan is not really showing enough potential and gravitas to carry on in the job after this season. Shearer on MOTD analysed LFC's kamikaze defending and overall tactics perfectly......just press them high up the pitch and force them into errors as they try and pass their way up the pitch. Toure in particular as Shearer said had an absolute shocker.

What with Skyrtyl, Stevie and now Can all suspended, and with Sterling raising the bar big time over a proposed new contract, and with the gap between 4th and 5th seemingly now too large to bridge, and OMG I didn't realise Balotelli has a 4 year contract.......well this is what you call real meltdown.

Their only salvation this season is the FA Cup and whilst the Liverpool loving media will bleat on and on about the magic of Stevie winning the Cup in his last game for the club, there can surely be very little chance of this happening when you look at the incredible form Wenger's team are in.

Agreed Newman, well said.

Isn't there red (ish) in the barca shirt?

Just kidding really!

In what circumstances does 6th place 'gain' a Europe league place this season?

because Chelski won the League Cup and will get a Champ League spot due to their league position then their Europa league spot goes not to the cup runners up (spurs) but instead to the 6th spot in the league

(which of course could be spurs anyway)

the same rule does not apply to the FA Cup where the spot goes to the cup runner up

Would an Arse FA Cup win free up a spot?

nope in fa cup the spot goes to the cup runner up which of course could be Liverpool (or Aston Villa or Blackburn)

So for LFC to avoid the europa league then they basically need to avoid the fa cup final and finish 7th.

Rodgers will be quite happy to be in the europa league though. He prefers to manage less high profile players and get the best out of them than manage big star signings and that can continue for him, even more so if he wins the fa cup.

I think that's right if Liverpool finish 7th and lose the FA cup semi final they stay home next season....

Remember anything can happen in football that why we love it. We hammered the arsenal last season and then the week after they beat us in the cup.

another really poor performance almost undone at the end by a shot from the Blackburn goalie that was more lethal than anything sturridge and co managed in 90 minutes

Next up Game of the Season against Toon given how poor both attacks are and how poor both defences are i'm predicting either 0-0 or 4-4

Nice finish from the little Brazilian though, nice 1 - 2 as well.

Sturidge looked far from fit, Owens really annoying as a commentator, we seem to have regressed again but at least we are still in the cup.

the soap opera that is Balotelli continues this time he posted a pic of a thermometer to show he was sick and missed the game - apparently this is the 7th game this season he has withdrawn from himself as well as all the games where Brendan didn't pick him so I doubt that this is a real illness. bet he will be fit for an fa cup semi final his agent will want other teams

to see him

So now a sterling for Walcott swap seems to be the plan, plus £20 million! It's all talk of course and will be till it's sorted one way or another.

Happy for Sterling to go, never rated him as highly as everyone else anyway.

They one they cannot afford to lose is Coutinho.

Happy to let him go? Really?

This thread is already as painful as the last.

Think he's got pace but very little else.

In fairness his runs are better timed than they used to be.

He can score the odd good goal but he wont do so routinely.

Just my 2p worth sorry if it causes 'pain'.
