GreetingsFromBarcelona
I want to thank the Manchester United supporters here in the Lion's Den for the inspiration to start a new Barca/La Liga thread for this up and coming season. I've included a link to the fixtures list for LFP 2015/16. Considering multiple changes to the schedule will probably happen, this list is really only a guide. Best of luck to Barcelona this season! Cheers. http://www.totalsportek.com/football/la-liga-fixtures/
GreetingsFromBarcelona
The Pedro move to Manchester United is looking very likely to happen in the next 48 hours. I'm going to greatly miss our man Pedrito . As a "thank you" to him and his years of service to Barca, I've added a You Tube collection of his highlights.
LeoGetz
Adama on his way to Liverpool, Samper again 90 min on the bench against Fiorentina, Grimaldo not even considered... Turan for 35 million, Gerson coming for 20... The demise of La Masia is in full swing.
GreetingsFromBarcelona
Leo, I realize this is a long read but I've included a link to the ECA Report On Youth Academies In Europe. The case study on FC Barcelona would be of interest. Enjoy http://www.ecaeurope.com/Research/ECA%20Report%20on%20Youth%20Academies/ECA%20Report%20on%20Youth%20Academies.pdf
GreetingsFromBarcelona
Barca's four captains for the 2015/16 season are Andres Iniesta, Leo Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Javier Mascherano. http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/first-team/detail/article/barca-s-four-captains-for-2015-

The case study on FC Barcelona would be of interest. Enjoy http://www.ecaeurope.com/Research/ECA%20Report%20on%20Youth%20Academies/ECA%20Report%20on%20Youth%20Academies.pdf Looks interesting. I will read it on the train. But two things I already notice on the first page: Rosell: "For us FC Barcelona is not a business, it's a feeling." LIE!! "Main goal: main squad with players from the academy." Sadly, that's not the case anymore. Now the club sees academy players as a way to generate income. That's also why they don't want to send players out on loan anymore, they want to sell them with buy-back options. Like Deulofeu, Suarez and Adama. Next ones will be Samper and Grimaldo. Bartomeu said it himself:
GreetingsFromBarcelona
2015/2016 shirt numbers released. GreetingsFromBarcelona
Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for Pedro Barca are keen for the forward to stay until after the UEFA Super Cup. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3185850/Manchester-United-given-ahead-sign-Pedro-wait-Barcelona-s-Super-Cup-clash-Sevilla.html I'm going to miss Pedro very much. He is a world class player, works hard and has dedicated 10+ years to Barcelona (Youth and Senior). My favorite Pedrito moment was in the Champions League Final against Manchester United. Pedro opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Xavi played him in, Pedro struck from inside the penalty box and started the chain of events that led to Barcelona's eventual 3-1 victory. Over the years, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Pedro play and feel thankful that Barca had the vision to sign such a dynamic player. Cheers.
GreetingsFromBarcelona
FCB 3 - AS Roma 0 Goals from Neymar, Messi and a super-strike from Rakitic make this curtain-raiser to the new season at the Camp Nou very special. Barca was victorious on Wednesday night as they competed in the 50th edition of the Joan Gamper Trophy . 94,422 fans were at the Camp Nou to enjoy the game as Barca 2015/16 season was "officially" presented. After watching this match, it's fair to say that I'm pretty excited for the up and coming games this year! http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/first-team/detail/article/fc-barcelona-3-0-as-roma-match-highlights http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/first-team/detail/article/happy-gamper-for-fc-barcelona-against-roma-3-0 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joan_Gamper_Trophy

Mission Man in AZ
Messi is lucky that it was a friendly played in Barcelona. In a competitive game anywhere else, he's sent off and gets a three-game ban.
LeoGetz
Messi is lucky that it was a friendly played in Barcelona. In a competitive game anywhere else, he's sent off and gets a three-game ban. In the CL, yes. In La Liga, anything between a 10 match ban and penalty for Barcelona is possible. Maybe Messi had a fight with the missus before going to the game. Or maybe in all the excitement he thought it was Higuain.
GreetingsFromBarcelona
On the Pedro front, Man Utd seem to be stalling on the "buy-out clause" and trying to negotiate a lower figure. I also suspect Pedro is having second thoughts about a move to England. That's a big step for a player who has spent his entire life in Spain. Family and friends can be a serious factor too. I'm still hoping Pedro has a change of heart and stays.
LeoGetz
Our board can score a few points with me if they don't sell Pedro for less than the buy-out clause. It's 30 million. They offer 29, 999, 999? No, thanks. The times of selling players below value have to be over.

Klinger: "If you get them as a kid, you don't get them as an adult. But if you get them as an adult, you don't get kids." What category does Neymar fall in?
