GreetingsFromBarcelona
Well Leo, it looks like it's about to happen. Pedro is departing from FC Barcelona after 10+ years. He certainly is leaving our club on a high-note though, his extra-time goal in the 115th minute essentially gave us the UEFA Super Cup Going forward, I wish all the best for him in London. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/19/chelsea-manchester-united-barcelona-pedro

Growin' Up
I think i'd prefer a centre half pairing of Stearman and Hause rather than Vermaelen and Mascherano!

Shame on you Jamie Jackson for writing such sensational crap like this. He's cheapening his writing reputation at the same time The Guardian too. Click bait anyone?
GreetingsFromBarcelona
Barcelona has opened their La Liga account this season at great expense, most likely a groin injury to Dani Alves and Sergio Busquets narrowly avoided his knee but appears to have still sustained injury (he was stretched off). Just as I thought, the game was a tense and cagey affair with both sides having definite points to prove. 30 minutes in Luis Suarez is adjudged to have been clipped inside the box but personally I was leaning toward simulation, a very soft penalty. However, Bilbao get redemption when Lionel Messi makes a weak penalty shot and it's super-saved by Iraizoz. Barca didn't deserve the goal anyway The obvious highlight of the entire match was the hypnotic 1-2-3 play of Ivan Rakitic's inch-perfect long ball pass to Jordi Alba who makes a wonderful cross into the box where a poaching Luis Suarez makes a breath-taking volley into the back of the net. Bottom line: Barcelona manage a 1-0 victory and record their seventh straight opening day win.
doesthisbusstop
So Greetings, just to humour the gossip column writers on this supposed MUFC enquiry over Neymar, how does it work in Spain with these buy out clauses? i.e if a bid of £137.5M is made, do Barca have to accept it and let the player and agent talk to bidding club, or can they immediately offer a new contract first and increase the buy out clause to something impossible like £200M? Of course a transfer won't happen but just talking hypothetically over the process.
GreetingsFromBarcelona
In other La Liga news, Antoine Griezmann scored the only goal against newly promoted Las Palmas with a deflected free-kick. A snoozer 0-0 draw at the Estadio de Vallecas between Rayo Vallecano and Valencia CF.

GreetingsFromBarcelona
Just as I feared, Dani Alves has a groin strain and will be unavailable for a undetermined amount of time. On the other hand, Sergio Busquets ankle injury is nothing. http://www.fcbarcelona.com/football/first-team/detail/article/dani-alves-injury-confirmed

LeoGetz
Week 1 Points: "Leo The Lion": 2 points (you guessed correctly the scores of Real Betis v Villarreal 0-1 and Espanyol v Getafe 1-0 ) Nice work! "GreetingsFromVancouverBC" : 0 points Betis - Villarreal ended 1-1. And the league outdid themselves again. The widely hated 22:00 kick-off time has been cancelled. Instead matches now start at 22:30. Amazing! They don't seem to run out of ideas to make attending a match more unattractive.
