I was there yesterday, had lunch at Langosta Lounge and walked the boards for over an hour.  Great day.

We had lunch at McLoone's.  I had the crab cake...so good!  And a Bloody Mary. :D

I've never had a Bloody Mary at Mcloones but Langosta makes a great one!

Very nice pictures.

I ventured to the Jersey Shore Saturday...Seaside Heights for a little February dip into the Atlantic Ocean...quite chilly...lol.

I'm going in May - where would anyone suggest to stay for two nights? Happy to go up or down the shore. Is Belmar nice?

Personally, when I stay in Asbury (when there for a late show or something) I stay at the Berkley Oceanfront >>> http://www.berkeleyhotelnj.com/.  I love it there.  There is also a new hotel to be completed by May 2016 called The Asbury >>> http://www.theasburyhotel.com/.  Looks like it's going to be really nice.  Or there are many B&B's in neighboring Ocean Grove.  In Long Branch there is Ocean Place Resort >>> http://www.oceanplace.com/

Going to NYC for two weeks in April, I would luv to visit Asbury Park.

Not sure how to get there, and if I can get my daughter to 'want' to go.

I think there is a train that runs from New York Penn Station to either Asbury Park or Long Branch.  It would be the NJ Coastline train with NJ Transit.  Here is NJ Transit's site. >>> http://www.njtransit.com/hp/hp_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=HomePageTo

There is a train that runs from New York Penn Station to Asbury Park. It takes just a little under two hours each way. I think the fare was around $16 (each way).

Ocean Grove is a very cute little town, with lots of B&B's, and walking distance from the Pony, etc. I stayed at the Shawmont, which is kind of a cross between a B&B and a hotel. It's literally right across the street from the boardwalk. My room was tiny, but it was fine for just me- very cozy. Breakfast wasn't fancy- bagels, fruit, etc. but it was enough. I would recommend it.

It's also walking distance or a short taxi ride from the Asbury Park train station.
