The Man City Thread: The Pep Years

It's games like this that puts me in the mind set, that Wednesday night we will need at least 3 goals. And it will be very difficult to beat both Spurs and United to keep the league trophy.

I had a day off today and, at one point, I found myself in Asda in Inverness.   Two young lads, I'd guess no older than 20ish, who worked there were chatting in one of the aisles when I pass

So they have to be punished. The whole "yeah, but others do it too" is just an admission of guilt. I understand it stings, but City agreed to the FFP rules, then went on to break them anyway. Serves t

The more blues there are the better. I've been going to the games since 1967, but the last 10 years have been amazing.

I don't know that Spurs can beat City twice in 4 days at their house. I really want Spurs to win the Sat game, as that should be important for the top 4 finish. As for Wed, a draw would be good, but if we play well but lose 2-1 I'll just have to settle ;)

Pep has 5 PL games in which to score one more goal than their opponents and win. Any manager would want that situation no matter who you have left to play.

If this city team really are worthy of the great PL sides, they will do it.

For the love of God, just crumble now.

Playing Spurs and United back to back after a night like this, if they make it through those two they're not gonna drop points in the remaining games.

A man can hope.

It is the hope that kills you - take it from someone who spent decades following Bruce and hoping for INCIDENT

Who will these USA 'fans' of Man City support now City are out I wonder?   Who will their allegiances turn to next season?

Exactly what was going through my mind, just who will these "fans" turn to now that the money men are out.

Two more points of note from last night, the ground was full for probably the first time since Bruce was there, and at times you could actually hear the fans and not just their sweetie papers rustling.

Whilst people drool over City’s “failure” it shouldn’t be forgot that in any pre VAR game they’re looking forward to the semi finals today.

Be interesting to know how many results pan out differently in history under that sort of scrutiny. Who knows?

As for the “fans” comments. No different to the swarms united or Liverpool picked up when they dominated. Plenty of them drifted away conveniently during less successful times.

When I had the misfortune of working in Manchester I was constantly surprised by how many season ticket holders  and match goers packed it in at Old Trafford during the Moyes/Van Gaal years. They’d been “considering it for years” of course.
