As a Magic Tour show was quite some time ago, the dark horse in this is the 2008 show, Greensboro 28 April 2008, with a double-whammy opening of Roulette and Don't Look Back. Most of the core Magic Tour setlist still intact, including the song Magic and the 'five-pack'; but not Girls In Their Summer Clothes, which is replaced by Backstreets.

That's a pretty good guess.

The River tour was my first show, Fall of 1980 in the dump that jumps. I was 12 years old and just purchased my first Van Halen records. My Mom had a fight with her boyfriend. So off I went with her.

Seriously, don't open the spoiler if you want to be surprised on Friday.

I'm sad.  Also, had a car crash today on my way home... slid down an icy road, straight into the back of a parked car.  So all round not very pleasing day.

Whatever show is coming, it’s just great to see a First Friday release once more. Even if it is not here to stay.

Here here!

I also feel like this is how they should have been doing it for the past year or two instead of the delays - I love the Backstreets clue game, as well as them stating a week in advance that we’re getting something on x date

Regarding Friday’s release, I’m pretty convinced that it’s the Greensboro show - no complaints from me because I love Magic.

At the risk of upsetting people, I’d happily take post-Reunion E Street tour shows for eternity - it’s likely because that’s the era I discovered the band and experienced them in concert and so I can picture them Morris.

But, I also love the varied set lists and slightly less intense and less super-octane-speed performances - even Bruce has said this last 20 years has been the best the band has played

Well it was only a little bit speculation...:) and I would not rule out a Reunion Tour show with Don't Look Back.

If my guess turns out to be right:), hopefully that compensates for my post [not in this topic] with the most unpopular opinion in the history of Greasy Lake.

If people think it’s a Magic show what about Danny’s last show in Boston November 19.

We already got this.

Tracy Vale:
Last full show with the "classic" lineup from 1975 onward makes this one a MUST HAVE -- especially for those who love the Magic album and it's orchestral rock / pop songs. Only missing "You'll be Coming Down" -- which Max called one of his favorites songs.

Totally forgotten that this show was released. Good reason to give it a spin today

It could also be a Lost in the Flood show with the lyrics "He rides head first into a hurricane and disappears into a point." This opens the floodgates (no pun intended) on what specific show it will be, but I really have a feeling it's going to be something from the Magic tour.

Before the Backstreets clue had us all guessing, I would simply have said either BTR or Magic as we haven’t had a show from either for a long time now.

If Magic, would expect a 2007 show as had two from 2008 already and only one from 2007.

Personally going to hope for an Other Band show as it must have been 18 months or so since the last one from 92.  That said, after the last two awesome releases from 84 and 78, plus the fantastic LTY album; even if it is a show I pass on, I would still consider myself damn lucky to have so much great music to listen to until the next one.

Whilst we all seem to enjoy the extra dimension these clues bring, this one seems to have too many options to be able to pin it down accurately.

I don't like 1977. The reference to fire in the middle of Backstreets seems way too tenuous to fit the 'firemen' clue, and they are unlikely to follow a 78 show with 77.

I haven't looked into the 2007/08 theory, but if the clues fit then that seems more likely. Unless they have managed to unlock another Rising Tour show, which could come then into the reckoning.

Greensboro '08 fits the clues the best

Two of the words in the first song and the other two in the second song, both of them tour debuts.

Looks good to me.
