True, sort of an inverted Unplugged version of the original album (or... or... Nebraska Plugged

I still think that an electric Nebraska - if it exists - should be part of a BITUSA box set.

I'd welcome that if we don't get a Nebraska box set, but I'd rather get that too :)

Yup, changed order to amazon uk.  Choice between thieving badlands or tax shy amazon - but amazon will charge lowest price between now and release date and won't charge card until dispatch, so easy decision.

Badlands looks pretty competitive at £149 especially as the Canadian Amazon price would not only have VAT levied but also the Royal Mail handling charge that such imports attract.

I think Badlands probably just assumed there would be a CD release — they posted that “information” in their new release section immediately after the box set was announced when details were sparse. Their e-mail today confirming pre-order details for the vinyl box stated

Please note there are currently no details of a CD release for this set.
As soon as we find out any more details we'll let you know.

Personally, I wouldn’t hold my breath for a CD release.

Yeah I saw that too ,  first I was annoyed , then I thought about it and the fact that might not actually listen to much of it anyway, and I have all the other CDs of these already , and I thought sod it.

What will be will be on all fronts Bruce from now on (shows tours albums and so on) ,  I haven’t got the energy to worry about it everyday anymore!    I will still go if he come over here , and still buy new releases but I ain’t worried about it anymore really!  Well not today at least! ;)

I'm quite happy with WOAD myself,  but that's sort of how I feel about HH. I wish about two thirds of HH had been released as a few EPs.

I agree on HH. But WOAD could have just been a one song single, The Last Carnival.

I wish they would have added a bonus disc of non-album tracks and B-sides from the era.

I wouldn’t expect all of these to be included (multiple songs would appear twice in different versions) and some of these songs are easily available on Tracks, Essential, etc. but a lot of these recordings are still obscure so if they’re going to include Blood Brothers and Chimes of Freedom on the set, you’d think they might as well include some of these as well.

  1. Lucky Man (Brilliant Disguise B-side)
  2. Two for the Road (Tunnel of Love B-side)
  3. Roulette (One Step Up B-side)
  4. Spare Parts (Live – Spare Parts B-side)
  5. I Ain’t Got No Home (from Folkways: A Vision Shared)
  6. Vigilante Man (from Folkways: A Vision Shared)
  7. Viva Las Vegas (from The Last Temptation of Elvis)
  8. Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips (from For Our Children)
  9. Part Man, Part Monkey (Better Days B-side)
  10. Leap of Faith (Live – Leap of Faith B-side)
  11. 30 Days Out (Leap of Faith B-side)
  12. Gypsy Woman (from A Tribute to Curtis Mayfield)
  13. Streets of Philadelphia (from Philadelphia soundtrack)
  14. Growin’ Up (Live – Streets of Philadelphia B-side)
  15. The Big Muddy (Live – Streets of Philadelphia B-side)
  16. Murder Incorporated (from Greatest Hits)
  17. Secret Garden (from Greatest Hits)
  18. Blood Brothers (from Greatest Hits)
  19. This Hard Land (from Greatest Hits)
  20. Hungry Heart (1995 Version)
  21. Streets of Philadelphia (Live – Hungry Heart B-side)
  22. Thunder Road (Live – Hungry Heart B-side)
  23. Murder Incorporated (Live – Hungry Heart B-side)
  24. Straight Time (Live – Ghost of Tom Joad B-side)
  25. Sinaloa Cowboys (Live – Ghost of Tom Joad B-side)
  26. Darkness on the Edge or Town (Live – Ghost of Tom Joad B-side)
  27. Dead Man Walkin’ (Dead Man Walking soundtrack)
  28. This Hard Land (Live – Dead Man Walkin’ B-side)
  29. Does This Bus Stop At 82nd Street? (Live – Dead Man Walkin’ B-side)
  30. Missing (The Crossing Guard soundtrack)
  31. Darkness on the Edge of Town (Live – Missing B-side)
  32. Born in the USA (Live – Missing B-side)
  33. Spare Parts (Live – Missing B-side)

I want to know how I've never heard it before.

Because, if I'm not mistaken, you're too young to have been buying Disney compilations in the early-90s...and maybe even too young to have had it bought for you.

Don't forget this part of the details on the Volume 2 release:

For even more from the era, a concurrent digital-only release will tie up some loose ends, gathering B-sides and live tracks from '90s singles that had yet to be made available on digital platforms to date (recall the numerous live tracks from Joad singles, etc.) Further details will be forthcoming.

Yup. I only hope that these won't be mp3-only (afraid they will be, though

I am still holding out the hope that the Vol. 2 Remasters and this 'digital collection' are available from Nugs and/or HD Tracks in lossless FLAC. I still wish I could have a CD box but lossless digital would ease the pain...

Me too. Or maybe Record Store Day will be reversed in the future, instead of releasing vinyl exclusives, they'll be releasing CD exclusives! RSD exclusive in 2035: Vol. 2 Remasters CD Box.

I hope this makes it to Spotify, although 'digital only release' sounds more like a purchasable download.

Then again, American Beauty EP is available on Spotify (as is the Blood Brothers EP) so perhaps in due course it will be

I've not seen anything yet, I got the bit above from Backstreets.com. Would also love to know though...

Does anyone know where the digital version of this will be released?

you'd have to imagine via iTunes and the other regular digital outlets, but with Record Store Day tomorrow I'd have thought some sort of announcement would have been made about it given Backstreets says its a "concurrent" release, which I took to mean released at the same time as the box. I guess we'll find out more tomorrow!

In today's parlance.... "In The Cloud"

I've always loved those cumulous clouds and those shapes and forms my earth bound brain convinces me I'm seeing.

Now I just wonder whether the currently passing cloud is the one that holds my copy of Born To Run

I have the chance to buy Vol 1 box for £25, am I correct saying that BTR,Darkness & River are already same quality from the anniversary box's I have?? I listened to some BITUSA  clips on I tunes and sounds absolutely stunning, Even for the 4 albums I don't have at that quality is worth the £25?

If I'm not mistaken, both BTR and Darkness were re-remastered for the Vol. 1 box, The River is the same remaster. For 25 quid, this is a no-brainer.
