Sunland fans seem to be happy with this take over, he can't be worse than Short can he ?

So this is my understanding of the take over, doesn't sound like the club is debt free to me

1. There is no consortium. It's just Don and his mate.

2. He's having to pay the £40 million in instalments

3. If he can't afford to pay it E. Short takes the next two parachute  payments

4. He owes £25 million  on previous transfers ?

5. They haven't got a manager yet, it may be Chris Coleman again ?

6 Players like Rodwell still on mega money

All sounds very Del boy to me.

Not that I as a Newcastle fan can claim to have a fab owner of course.

Here is a few worrying stats for sunland and the new start.

21 clubs have been relegated from the Premier League down to at least League 1.

2 clubs were in League 2 this season, Swindon and  Coventry ( in play offs)

7 were in League 1... Blackburn Rovers ( got promoted ), Blackpool, Bradford City, Charlton Athletic, Oldham Athletic Wigan ( prompted)  a Portsmouth

9 in the Championship; Barnsley, Leeds United ( been out the top flight for 14 seasons), Norwich City, Nottingham Forest, QPR, Sheffield United, Bolton , Sheffield Wednesday and wolves who went up.

Leicester, Southampton Man City and Wolves this season, make 4 teams who have returned, Leicester and Man City have better off owners..just:D

The average time spent out of the top flight for double relegated teams is 12 years.

sunland look like getting St Mirren manager Jack Ross to take over at the stadium of light.

It must have been the black and white stripes of St Mirren that attracted them to him :D

Somebody posted on another board to lump on Ross at 10s for the Mackems' gig a few days ago, said he'd heard it from someone in the know.

I didn't.

Bringing in a manager from the Scottish league, what could possibly go wrong?

I think the Mackems have got a gem in Ross, he's nothing like that wage thief charlatan bastard pictured.

Anyhow, wasn't there another former St Mirren manager did OK dahn sarf? (OK that's probably in the main down to his AFC experiences, but still.....)

Jack Ross officially named sunland manager, it's a big jump for him.

He was used to crowds of 5,000 at St Mirren.  See how he copes with crowds of nearly 20,000.

mackems seem to be impressed, however I'm not sure about their nickname for him..."wearside jack" :o

I wish him well, defo reckon he's got a but about him.

I was fancying him at the Pitt if Del took the Mackem gig, or indeed took the dirty shilling from the bastard garden.

I'll defo keep a closer eye on posts from the fella who advised lump on at 10s.

Sunderland free some of the dead weight

Fabio Borini [Sunderland - AC Milan] Undisclosed

Jeremain Lens [Sunderland - Besiktas] Undisclosed

John O'Shea [Sunderland - Reading] Free

still got Cattermole, Kone, Papy etc and the extremely useless jack Rodwell

The likes of Billy Jones have also been let go today, but as you've said, there's a few more we need to get shot of.

I've been really happy with the recent activity of the club. Robbie Stockdale and his people should've been gone when we got relegated from the Premier League let alone a few days ago.

I'd imagine there'll be little value in the Mackems to win Division 3 but I'll be keeping a close eye.

I'm a one man cheerleader for Jack Ross round these parts, love to see him succeed.

I'd say October. November at a stretch.

Stick me down for "Jack Ross leads the Mackems to the third division title and gets headhunted in the summer".

Need some players first.

Even the mackems on their website found this cringe worthy

Ah Jaysus.......that's a bit........

Anyhow, reckon the Mackems have a good young manager and he'll do well.

See the Mackems have signed Chris "Bebo" Maguire.

He was a great young player but a complete nugget.

Left us for Sheffield Wednesday about 8 or 9 years ago and has blossomed into a lower league journeyman in England.

There's a player in there someplace if his (internally sparsely populated) head is right.
