Good morning! Here's a "Sunday surprise" for your enjoyment.

Hrubesh used the wav files from my 1985-09-01 release and applied his skills to improve the sound. When I listened to his finished product I was really pleased with how good an audience recording of an outdoor stadium show (80,000 seats, plus the floor but minus the seats not sold behind the stage, so ~66k ticketed per wiki) could sound.

This show was on Sunday, delayed from Friday because of a severe storm. So it ended up being the last of the six stadium shows, and my last of 24 shows that tour. I had a lot of fun, and some great experiences over those 13 months, from the arena shows in August '84. on to LA and Tempe, and later to London and back to NJ! Also, I began my taping saga during the LA shows in November '84, and used those recordings to build my cassette bootleg collection, so that added to the experience.

Summer night, stadium in NJ, Labor Day weekend - bliss! This has the long Garden of Eden story in Pink Caddy, one of those 17 minute Twist & Shout experiences (that brought back some great memories), followed by Jersey Girl (and if you've never experienced JG at the finale of a stadium stand in the summer in NJ like this, or 2003 GS 10 ;), you've missed a fabulous moment), and one of the earliest Santas I can recall. I'm certain my personal memories help me enjoy this show a lot. As with all my recordings, my hope is that the sound that is shared allows you to at least come close to my experience.

You can compare it to the original of mine, and the other versions for this date, previously uploaded by others. If you like it, please post your comments, so I can make sure Hrubesh knows that his time and effort was appreciated by others.

@Breakaway please pass this along to update the brucebase entry ;)

Wow- what a treat! - will move it straight to the top of my listening list :)

Many thanks to yourslf & Hrubesh for all the work done - star men, both of you!

Thanks for sharing your memories and your recording. Hrubesh did a good job with your tape. The result takes us back to a warm (?) Sunday over 35 years ago. It was the day a team of researchers found the Titanic on the ocean floor.

At that time I was living in East Germany and my first Bruce concert didn't take place until 3 years later. I had just finished the first year of my professional training with honors and had to work the next day (Monday). I had absolutely no idea at the time that Bruce would be performing 4,000 miles away from home on this beautiful Sunday. I was definitely in a club on Saturday, the party ended until after midnight and my mother woke me up for lunch (1pm)...

It's great that we can now listen to all these recordings! There are no more borders, people are friendly and share their treasures with others. I'm thankfull.

Peace

Hello again everyone,

It seems like I didn't make myself clear enough yesterday.

There is no rule that people need to have contributed any bootlegs before requesting a bootleg they want. Newbies should feel perfectly free to ask for bootlegs.

There are many generous people here who will gladly share with people while expecting nothing in return. That is the spirit of this community, at least I hope it is.

If you feel that someone who has asked for a show has not contributed enough for your liking, then feel free not to share your collection with them. But do not scold or otherwise belittle people who ask for shows.

As far as thanking people for sharing shows - while it is polite to thank someone who gives you something, it is certainly  not required.  Personally, I always thank people who do me favors, but that is a personal choice and it is not mandatory.

Good morning -- I just spent the past hour writing to you! Thanks for your post.

EDIT: And will you (and other Moderators) be responsible for the 'Official' released post?

All the moderators are responsible. I just happened to be the one who was around yesterday and today.

Please use the “report” function to let us know if anyone links to officially released material, and we will gladly take care of it.  Thanks!

Hi Judy,

What is considered an official release? Recently, concerts with just a few tracks off of Live 75-85 have been taken down. I understand not allowing for archive shows and the video releases to be shared, but I feel that removing concerts with just a few tracks off 75-85 is a bit extreme. Thanks in advance.

It's easy to decide if something was officially released - If you can buy it from Bruce and Co, then it is officially released.

Live 75-85 was officially released, and you can buy those tracks. Therefore, we won't allow that material to be shared here.

Just tossing in my 2 cents with Judy's point made above.

This group is about friendship and similar interests.  We all have love for Bruce's music, that's why we are here.  There is a generous spirit shown by long time members and new ones see that and feel welcomed here.....see the "American Mom" thread on the main page.

Yes, if it was a perfect world things would be better.  But I don't think any of us wish to punish a new member who is dying to get a copy of their first show from the Reunion Tour.  If they ask for it on their first post, yeah that looks bad to us - but to them, they are so excited at that possibility, they just pull the trigger and post right away.

A little patience and a little kindness go a long way further than an endless list of "requirements" before benefiting from the generosity of others.

Many years ago, one of the members here dug deep into his boxes and found what appears to be the only recording of my first show.  He did it out of his generosity, and now many of us have it as it has been shared hundreds of times.  Without this community, it might not have happened and without me asking about it, he might not have looked for the tape----let's keep that spirit going here
