Another Retro E Street Review, another show that we shouldn't expect in the Archive Series - but man one we wish we could. Night four of the Boston Music Hall stand in 1977.

Great review.

I’ve never listened to more passionate, consistently high energy shows than 3/24 and 3/25/77. Consider that Incident is the slowest song of the night, and they still end up rocking that one.  No other show comes close to the sustained, fervent energy explosion of these two. Thanks Paola.

Cheers!

Yeah it's pretty staggering just how full of life they are. I think I mentioned about the encore that you could play it before "Night" to a non-fan and they likely wouldn't realise.

I'm also gonna mention that I'm not finished with Bruce blogs for the week. I've got another set to be published in a couple of days, so stay tuned for that folks. :)

You have some great anniversary shows coming up, Paolo.

August 75 Electric Ballroom

August 78 Philadelphia, then the Garden

August 81, 40th Anniversary of the LA Stand.

Sorry for not responding to this sooner mate. My aim with these special reviews wasn't as much to honour anniversaries as much as it was to spotlight superb shows that very likely won't be getting an official release.

The Vets show was definitely planned out to be released on the 20th, and I suppose the Bottom Line came about as a lucky coincidence, but Boston '77 and the last special I've got set to be published on Friday are more so just notable nights.

Oh, and even though the thread is on the front page still, here's the link for the Vets review (for posterity).

So this is a bit of a random one, but for the last three years I've been bothered by my review of November 19th, 2007. I've always felt it was overly short and not informative enough, and for a long time considered writing something like a new "Archive revisited" post about it and publishing it. I haven't done that, but today I settled on just doing a little editing of what I wrote in April 2018.

I've intertwined a few excerpts I included in my definitive songs posts and cleaned up the structuring to hopefully make it a more interesting, time worthy read.

I know one goal of this blogging was to get better at writing and look back on older posts to see just how much I'd improved, but without wanting to sound big-headed, I feel these Archive Series reviews have become 'more' than just a vehicle for me to see if I've become a better writer.

I hope you enjoy this, if it's of interest to you tonight, and I'll be back... tomorrow with a new Retro E Street Review.

The fourth of my special retro reviews is now up to read, and it's one of the most loved boots of the Born in the U.S.A. World Tour

Next week I'm hoping to be writing about Archive #71, and the week after that we'll jump into The River Tour 2016, but until then it's all about those roses in the Kansas City rain.

Not the most necessary post in the world, but I never included the artwork I used in this post - and seeing as @lilbud's efforts should be spotlighted, here's his restoration

Spotlight today is on a show I haven't reviewed in full (yet) but one I've cited as one of the very best of 2016, and one of my all time favourite Springsteen shows: MetLife #3 B)

So, here's Tower Theatre 2005, and I also wanted to say that my review of January 16th, 2016 will be up later in the week. We're going down to The River Tour, folks, let's hope it's an enjoyable journey!

This week's River Tour 2016 review transports us into what should have been the second night of the tour inside MSG. If only it wasn't for that damn Storm Winter Jonas!

Nice review!

Although it may not be accurate to say that Reagan was desperate for votes in 1984… he carried 49 of 50 states and won the popular vote 59%-41%…B)

Thanks for checking it out!

That's a fair point in regards to Reagan, although I'll stand by what I wrote because surely a politician is always looking for every single vote from every single person.

Not to turn this into a discussion on politics, of course, I'd bore myself out of my own thread hahaha!

I don't know if there's a new Archive release coming today or not, but I wanted to post this one now, so enjoy!

Bruce and the Band's New Jersey homecoming - their first since the MetLife Birthday show in 2012!

So I believe the digital No Nukes release is going up on Friday, so expect a review of that one this weekend. With that being the case, I'm not expecting a new Archive, and because of Nukes we'll get stuck into February 2016 in a little while.

Anyway, here's my Western Stars film review, and in case any of you guys missed it in 2019, an accompanying link of Songs From The Film, which is entirely focused on the music.
