Recommended Posts

My Top Five:

1. Tempe 1980 (blu ray audio rip mixed with nugs tracks)

2. Stockholm 1988.

3. Hammersmith 1975.

4. Christic 1990.

5. Helsinki 2003.

Was really hard to narrow it down to a Top 5.

No argument there. Still blows me away. All the different 'best tour' arguments out there can't make me change my mind from thinking this was the E Street Band at it's pinnacle.

  1. 1980/11/05 Tempe, AZ - The full show mixed together is, for me, the greatest Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band show of all time.
  2. 1978/09/20 Passaic, NJ
  3. 1988/07/03 Stockholm, SE
  4. 2016/08/30 East Rutherford, NJ
  5. 1978/07/07 West Hollywood, CA

You all know where you can read my extended thoughts on them

I actually don’t consider the Archive stuff official.  I see them more as fancy bootlegs.  The major label (Columbia) releases are official.

I get what you mean in the sense that they're not exactly available to the public - like in shops, I know they're available to everyone - and are more so something for the diehard fan, but they're definitely official releases.

I guess I’m just old.   “Official” in that they are sanctioned by the artist.   Unofficial in the sense that the quality varies, the record company is not involved and they are not sold widely and that there is no accompanying packaging/literature with each release.

I don’t consider all those Pearl Jam releases official either.

My top 5 Archive releases are:

1. Full Tempe

2. Passaic 78

3. Helsinki 2003

4. Tower 75

5. Wembley 81

As far as Columbia releases, only Live 75-85, Hammersmith 75 and the Hyde Park show are worth anything to me.  The BITUSA bonus disc from London 2013 is ok as well.  I don't have much use for the rest of them for various reasons ranging from performance, song selection, and sound quality.

3. Tempe ‘80

4. Christic ‘90

This is subject to change daily.  I will stand by  the Upper Darby show being one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard though.

1. Tempe 80 is a force of nature

2. St. Paul 2/29/16 because I was THERE, man

3. 3/2/14 Auckland, New Zealand offered Royals and a complete Born to Run

4. 8/20/84 would have been No. 1 without the feedback that ruined Born to Run and the Detroit Medley

5. 8/30/08 ...and then she kissed me

Can anyone point me in the direction of a full mix of Tempe 80? I have the blu-ray but I'd like the whole concert in a single package?

Me too :).

Live 75/85 should be on my list too actually... first live Bruce I ever heard, and regardless of the edits, the overdubs, the missing songs, yada yada yada, it's still an phenomenal set of music.
