squeezed Michael Kiwanuka at Bristol in on Nov 7th - new cd and promotional gig for £16 and he really was great again. Squeeze may have been my favourite gig so far this year and still got some great ones to come.

We are off to Cardiff at the weekend to see Joy Formidable at the Tramshed. I don't know any of the other bands on the bill ( it is a sort of festival ) and time is running out to check them and do some homework.

How was Chris Norman?  He's still hugely popular in Germany. I always liked Smokie but CN didn't venture far north enough for me.

I really enjoyed it. All the Smokie hits plus the best of his later career, and some newish stuff if I remember correctly. He has a female guitarist who stands in for Suzi Quatro.

That's great. I may end up having to go to Germany at some point to see him I think.

Just went to my first show in over a year, I think. I missed it. It was Tav Falco, a 74 year old treasure who is criminally under appreciated. It was a great show and I highly recommend it.

Caught Emily Barker last night supporting Frank Turner on his current tour. Her set included a really nice cover of Tougher Than The Rest, which conveniently was available via her merch stand.

Signed copy purchase duly made.

I saw her a few years back as part of Applewood Road, supporting Mary Chapin Carpenter, then saw her solo show last year. Really good.

I knew the name, but hadn’t taken the time to check out. Very impressed.
