There was a scene on the second episode (I think) in the graveyard that was heartbreaking. But I really like how he alternates sadness and humour.
Eileen
I decided to give it a go. There's a scene in the graveyard in the first one - but it's ok, Daisey - it's a trained dog, you'll be alright. I found plenty to chuckle at and I found the birthday card scene poignant. Yeah, I'll give Episode 2 a go tomorrow … I should think the next graveyard scene may have more to it.
thomam
Just finished watching Safe. Nice mystery with plenty of plot twists and an interesting feature at the start of each episode, where it gave you an additional flashback of previously omitted detail from the previous episodes to help your theorizing. Eileen
Sounds good - I'll take a look at that one.

SteveJhb
I found some parts of the writing to be a little predictable and naïve, but overall I thought After Life was very good. Heartbreaking and funny and sometimes almost at the same time. One of the best things I’ve seen Ricky Gervais do. Highly recommended. And if you binge it’s really only one longish movie.

Yeah I started it late last night at about 1:30 in the morning and only stopped after three episodes just so I'd have something to look forward to today. I then binged the next and final three episodes. It's good. I felt it was a little preachy in places, which is a habit in Ricky Gervais' shows now, but I let it slide because, well I don't even know why, I just did.

Promise61
Netflix original movie, Triple Frontier was very good. Oscar Isaac, Ben Affleck, Charlie Hunnam take on the bad guys. Well paced, keeps your attention all the way through.

Jerseyfornia
I'm watching the Motley Crue biopic The Dirt right now. Enjoying it much more than I expected to. It's really good.
Jerseyfornia
I just watched Wakefield. Bryan Cranston is excellent as a man who disappears in plain site, hiding out in the attic above his garage.
Jerseyfornia
There's a lot of interesting and obscure stuff on Netflix. It's worth it sometimes just to do some deep browsing through the genres and subgenres. I'm watching The Miami Showband Massacre. I'd never heard of Miami Showband, but apparently they were the most popular showband in Ireland. This is a fascinating glimpse at subjects I'm not well-versed on, what the Irish call The Troubles and this band. I'm only halfway through it so i don't know how it all winds up, but I recommend it Daisey because you were posting some questions about Northern Ireland and The Troubles on another thread. Saw the trailer for that. Had also not heard of them. Busy watching the documentary about the Madeleine McCann story. How to Make a Murderer created a whole new genre/style of true crime documentaries I think.
