The Sessions Band - Live in Dublin

Recommended Posts

They seem to be continuing their trend of uploading DVDs to youtube. Next up is the sessions band - live in dublin concert.

It's got some amazing stuff on it. Wish I could bottle the energy. Loved the Sessions tour.

This is from the same guy who, 10 years later, did a tour around a 35 year old album and even then managed to eventually start playing basically greatest hits sets.

I really, really loved the two Seegar shows I saw.

And it's the best version of "Blinded by the Light"......... by a long way.

Oh, and I've decided I'm taking credit for the plethora of DVD content being uploaded to the YouTube page courtesy of a post I made nearly two years ago.

On 6/30/2017 at 6:43 PM, Paolo's Circus Story said:

Criticism: Why isn't Bruce Springsteen's YouTube page used to its maximum potential?

That should be a goldmine with multiple random videos/songs from random shows over his 50 year career for fans to enjoy and casuals unsure about his music to be shown how and why he's one of the greatest live performers of all time.

Instead there's only 90 videos on there and it hasn't been updated in 9 months.

I agree. And I know other's mileage varies on this one, but I can't get enough of Open All Night either.

Call out too for the waltz arrangement of Should I Fall Behind... I'm getting soft in my old age I guess, but that thing is stellar

Agreed, so many incredible arrangements and performances. I absolutely loved the Seeger Blinded too, probably more so than the album style version. Just kicks ass. One that surprised me was Man on the Flying Trapeze - loved that when I saw him at Wembley Arena.

I love that arrangement. Sadly, Patti’s vocals make it unlistenable.

I was listening again to Open All Night. Now THAT is fucking musicianship.

For everyone that’s not familiar, the way a live stage is set up, each musician or small section of musicians will have their own monitors, meaning that they will listen they’re own instruments and whatever mix of the others helps them know where they’re at at any given point. Get this wrong, and it’s like running the marathon, with hurdles, blindfolded. A bad soundcheck is the quickest and surest way for a train wreck.

Looking at this video, at all the different parts that make this song, at each player’s role within it, at how they keep moving around the stage and still always right on queue. Everyone is doing such an amazing job while actually having a blast! It’s a joy to see this.

When The Saints Go Marching In from this show is also brilliant.

Highway Patrolman and Long Time Coming may have their best versions here too.

I loved the two shows I was lucky enough to see on the US leg of the tour.  Watching now and smiling remembering!

I would love for them to upload the videos they did for AOL at the time and the st Luke's performances. I loved those as well.

Are there only a few videos from the DVD on Youtube?  A lot of them are rubbish - cant see anything for some bloke holding up the album in front of the camera.

The horns parts on Long Time Coming are probably in my top ten Bruce moments of all time.

Tear-jerking horns at the end - I love this thread to pieces.

My favorite project EVAH!
