Well, he got #1 and #18 right!

I don’t know. He’s still way too generous with HH rank.

I haven't looked at their list yet, but I'm already quite confident it's wrong.

[checks list]

I was right, it is. But in a really interesting way, at least.

Can't even be bothered checking this list. Everyone has their own individual favourite Bruce albums and they can wildly differ from one another, that's what makes the guy so unique. Many fans don't rate High Hopes (which is basically an outtakes album and shouldn't be compared with the others in my opinion), but I think it's great for what it is. WOAD I also think has many great songs on it and is easily Bruce's most melodic album. Who knows, maybe Western Stars will shoot right to the top end of many fans lists. I think it's going to be a classic.

The Ghost of Tom Joad for me is a masterpiece of an album, as is Tunnel of Love and Nebraska. All three should be in any top five Springsteen albums. Born in the USA for me would struggle to get in to the top 7 or 8, though is is a superb album in it's own right.

ToL should be in the top 3, so I can get behind the list in that regard.  And Darkness at 1, sure.

As of today I think I'd go for:

Darkness
Nebraska
ToL
BtR
The River
Wild Innocent
Magic
Tom Joad
BitUSA
Greetings
Human Touch
Wrecking Ball
Lucky Town
D&D
Rising
WoaD
High Hopes

I like the Seeger album, but find it impossible to rank vs Springsteen's own songs - it's just not apples to apples.   Maybe between Lucky Town and WB if I absolutely had to.

Terrible list.

Top 5 for me (1 and 2 interchangeably):

1. Born To Run

2. Darkness

3. WIESS

4. The River

5. BITUSA

Honorable mention: The Rising

While I love most of the songs, I'll be the guy to admit I hate the production quality of THE RIVER. Everything sounds like it was run through a tin can in search of some mythical 'live' quality that is incapturable. So I'd have a hard time ranking it.
