Popular Post rachelharms
Following on from my previous thread of first songs you’ve heard Bruce play live.. what was the last song you heard him play? Mine was This Hard Land on my 21st birthday in New York... We were all stood up in the theatre because we’d just done a standing ovation for the end of the show after Born To Run. Bruce then announced he had one more for us, since Patti was absent. Pretty much everyone was stood filming it, so it might not be as memorable for them as it is for me. I just kind of stood there completely transfixed and in shock at being just centimetres away from my hero. Bruce caught me singing along and smiled at me, and we sang the last line of the song while looking at each other. As soon as the song was finished, he walked straight over to me and handed me his guitar pick. And then, of course, I burst into tears Ever since that moment I’ve been wondering what the next song I’ll hear him play live will be Encores can range quite a bit however so I’m intrigued for the answers to this one! 6 4

rachelharms
Twist and Shout is one I haven’t heard yet, and one of my all time favourites. I’m so obsessed with the ‘75 Tower Theatre performance of it as well. That piano is the stuff of my musical dreams.
Me and Frank
Also Twist and Shout for me, Melbourne 2017-complete with fireworks. But, I would have preferred your This Hard Land, Rachel.

Kent Guitar
Thunder Road Hope Estate, Hunter Valley 18 Feb 2017 Bruce got lost and forgot the words. Forgot the words to Thunder Road! How can you forget the words to Thunder fucking Road? I thought then that we had seen him for the last time. Everything he has done since that tour has been tightly scripted. I wonder what a tour in 2020 might look like. Will still go of course.

Popular Post BITUSA
Feb 9 2017 Qudos Arena Sydney. Solo acoustic Thunder Road. Pin drop, hair standing up on back of neck performance on the Summer '17 Tour downunder. I KNOW many others say this was a "pointless tour", but for we Aussies, for years and years having been starved of Bruce tours, to have had the Wrecking Ball, High Hopes and Summer 17 tours in a 4 year period, with ME in little old Perth having 6 shows in a brand new Arena, where up til then - nothing - EVER - no way was Summer 17 'pointless'. IT WAS CATCH UP time baby! My wife - a Fan, not a FAN like me - having now heard the 3 songs from Western Stars, has asked me "when/where is he touring again? We need to go"....wow, no wonder I love her.... 9
