Albums Where You Like Every Track

Recommended Posts

Great thread. Very few for me but I'd go with:

Van: Astral Weeks.

Stooges: Funhouse. ( and yes, I do love LA Blues )

Velvet underground: first LP

Veronica Falls: both LPs

It's kind of all 1 song, isn't it?  May as well list Tull's "Thick As A Brick".

Younger??!!

Wasn't that you under the lampshade last week?

You had already listed "Strangers in the Night". In retrospect, I should have included it on my list also.

Going to see them with BOC 10/31.

I like tons of artists but thinking about their albums, there's usually at least one track I don't care for. I very rarely hit skip because I like to listen to an album all the way through. Anyway here's some that like every single track on.

Al Stewart - Year of The cat

Billy Joel - The Stranger

Bob Dylan - Desire

Boz Scaggs - Silk Degrees

Bruce Springsteen - Born To Run / Western Stars

Crosby Stills & Nash - Crosby Stills & Nash

Dire Straits - Dire Straits

Eagles - Desperado and Hotel California

Jackson Browne - Late For The Sky / The Pretender

Janis Ian - Between The Lines

Jason Isbell - Southeastern

Joni Mitchell - Hejira

Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell

Neil Young - After The Gold Rush / Harvest

Pink Floyd - Animals

Steely Dan - Can't Buy A Thrill / Katy Lied / Gaucho

Supertramp - Crime Of The Century

The Beatles - Rubber Soul / Abbey Road

The Jayhawks - Rainy Day Music

I'm too tired to think right now, but I like that you have Boz Scaggs on your list.  That's a great album.

Just checked UFO site. Coming to Saguet Il, right across the river here. But it's a rough neighborhood. No BOC though. Have think about it.

When the dust settles, how likely are you to have decided that Stars has at least one or two you don't care for?

I think its unlikely. I really do love Western Stars, best Bruce album since BITUSA for me.

Btw - good shout on Donald Fagen's Nightfly. I would add that to my list too.

Are they still going after Paul Raymond died? I assumed they'd hang it up then.

I was gutted I had something else on the night they came to town on the "Last orders" tour, matter of weeks before he passed.

Yes, they're finishing out the scheduled tour with guitarist Neil Carter (former band member according to their site, and played with Gary Moore).

The Menzingers: After The Party

Many great albums left out from this list because of one (mediocre/meh/irrelevant) song. Many of Bruces or Frank Turners albums are like that for me.

Not too many to name for me, but enough so that I can't remember them all. Avoiding live albums and greatest hits packages, a few off the top of my head:

Pretty much any album by the Ramones

Let It Be, Tim, and Pleased to Meet Me - the Replacements

The Dirty South - Drive-By Truckers

Southeastern, Something More than Free, The Nashville Sound - Jason Isbell

BTR, Darkness, Western Stars - Bruce

Men Without Women - Little Steven & TDOS

Hard Promises, Wildflowers - Tom Petty

Who's Next - The Who

New York, New Sensations, Transformer - Lou Reed

Avalon - Roxy Music

Car Wheels on a Gravel Road - Lucinda Williams

Harvest, After The Gold Rush, Rust Never Sleeps - Neil Young

Midnight Oil's entire catalog

The Joshua Tree, War, Achtung Baby - U2
