id love the Pumas to stage a big upset

they have always been my favourite opposition team because the first All Black test to went to was Vs Argentina

maybe they could come 3rd

and a Wales NZ final because we have such fine history between us

id also like to see the US do well

i also like the French

Springboks under Rassie Erasmus starting to click. AB's huffed and puffed again.....bodes wellfor an open world cup.

Retallick ok? COuld be a big loss.

Caught the second half of the Aussies v Pumas...absolutely dire, and no atmosphere in a ground barely half full . Australian rugby not just  mis managing their players are doing a pretty good job of mismanaging their game nationally.

They are not far away. Against ABs and Australia they crafted opportunites only to kick possession away at crucial moments, they need a bit more calness and patience and the results will come.

Hopefully unlike the cricket, matches will not be decided by people unfit to be officials, although I have my doubts.

At least this guy will not be there this time to screw it up :-

We've all had bad decisions against us..... but yes it does sting and you think what if....  fir us its the blatant dive by Andy Haden in 1978 which cost us a victory inwhat was the unofficial world cup final of the time (2 best sides in the world) and a half french referee sending Sam Warburton off in the sf of the world cup 2011....the year we shouldhave won!

But you have to move on ..... and Scotland are looking good for a decent run in the WC under Townsend and we have a great opportunity to go deepinto the tournament..... heres to Japan!!!

I would like to see every rugby union pay significant compensation, say £500000 a player, every time they poach someone from the union of their birth. Can you imagine how much stronger the Pacific Island nations would be if they could select their full teams?

There are exceptions though, take Faletau and the Vunipola brothers, all brought up in the valleys, Talupe was there from the age of 7 and although a proud Tongan by birth he and his family owe alot to Welsh rugby. I think there are similar stories in Aus and New Zealand. There is a difference between these scenarios and the likes of France setting up academis in Fiji.

Plus taking colour ourt of the equation, a fair amount of the home nations have players in their ranks not born in those countries.Take George North, born in Kings Lynn but is he anything but a proud Welsh speaking Welshman ....no or try telling me Jonathan Davies another welsh speaker born in the midlands is not a true welshman. Remember Dewi Morris English scrum half who used to sing both anthems in Wales v England matches.

Always a sensational tournament. When it comes down to the end of the cup, the Winner always seems deserving.

Wallabies won't figure in the big matches. We are miles off the standard.

But I always enjoy the surprises. How good was Japan beating the Springboks at the last one. There will be something like that again this time.

In what must be a perfect segue, I am just back from seeing Blinded By The Light at the Hayden Orpheum.

John Eales was there. The two time World Cup winning (once as captain) John Eales. The guy who is meant to be  the worlds most perfect man was there with a daughter.

i let him go in front of me. Needless to say he entered straight on and not from the side.
