Blinded By The Light (Movie)

Recommended Posts

Saw it last night. Thought it was great. It's cheesy in parts, but it comes from such an honest place and with so much heart that it's hard not to root for it.

Bruce has been the King of cheeze at times, I'd expect it to be fromage at least a little.

To avoid that would be to avoid an important part of history.

Really, you think so?
Other than the Dancing in the Dark video I don't see too much cheesiness.

I've seen it in spades through the years.  Cheese doesn't have to be a bad thing, and it's been part of his schtick.

Right on down to the super bowl.  I loved it but it was loaded with cheese - he could have replaced the "guacomole dip" with the cheese dip.

Even shaking his ass with his back turned to the audience has been cheese.  But I love it.

Really enjoyed the film at the Sky screening in Dunfermline last night. Good turnout, although the fact that was a free screening would no doubt boost numbers.

I was 16 when BITUSA (my Bruce finding moment) was released so a lot of the timeline experience relates with my own.

Won't give spoilers, but I am sure most fans will enjoy

I'll Stand By You Always gets its airing over the end credits, so need to stay right to the end to catch it..

not sure if we have seen this clip yet or not - its kind of fimilar

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/films/2019/07/25/watch-exclusive-clip-gurinder-chadhas-blinded-light/

i must say i never knew people living in bigger, more important and influential countries (talking about pop culture and entertainment) had so much access to free screenings, advance screenings and promotional events.

im feeling a little enviouse when the movie isn't even scheduled to screen in Wanganui yet

I saw it in Gateshead on Monday. Really enjoyed the film, helped that I'm obviously a Bruce fan and was also a teenager in the 1980's when the film is set. Good fun and quite emotional, if a little cheesy in places (as already noted.)

Great to hear so much Bruce in a cinema, my wife enjoyed it even as a non-Bruce convert! Definitely recommend the film, and the book if you haven't already read it.

Enjoyed this, the BBTL producer Gurinder Chadha is a big fan and Bruce comes out of the anecdotes well.

I think one said 'Take me in the river' or similar … they were about to go fly-fishing - and he said that was something Bruce would say and Paul agreed.

Yes, they were standing in the River fishing, and the other one said something about going down to the river, and Paul Whitehouse, said yes Bruce would go down to the river.

I will watch it again as I was in and out of the kitchen and missed some. Very touching in places, funny in others. I've always liked Bob and Paul seems to be a lovely bloke, too.

Couldn't face half an hour of EastEnders … and the fishing was in Wales. I blubbed like a baby at the end due to what he was about to do and cos my dad's side were from Wales.
