I always think of this and Shut Out the Light as kind of companion pieces...  recorded around the same time, similar sound, and in a roundabout way, similar subject matter.

Is it a slip up that the song is called Shut Out The Light when the protagonist consistently says Don't Shut Out The Light?

I don't think so but I would have to look it up

I think the song is loud and clear, and the title has been printed over and over again for years

Born In The U.S.A. and  Shut Out The Light are companion pièces and as was mentioned before by posters on this forum, probably no coïncidentie Shut Out was the B-Side to BUSA.
