According to Nils on an E Street Radio guest DJ spot, as Bruce was walking onto the stage he turned to Nils and Danny changing the first song!! Hahaha

Bruce's contribution to Teach Your Children is pretty negligible

Why use one acoustic when four will do...Truly awful.

My response to seeing the first post was:

"That's it? This show?!?"

I mean, it has, to me, the best live version of Born In The USA ever, and Dancing is one of the best performances....

but this is SO short a show and not exactly DEEP into the vaults.

I'll pass. And yes this seems more like a bonus type of release (and the '95 show sucks, adding that wouldn't have made this better)

Bring on the '70s next month please, that's the real "diving deep into the vaults."

Yeah the DVD in plain mono not that horrible fake stereo with way too much echo that's on the Go-Go and Crystal Cat CDs.

I have that too.

A rather 'strange' -if that is the right word- performance of Born In The U.S.A. (the first ever acoustic performance).  It is not really very good, a little bit rambling but also gets to the core of the song. Listening to it feels very uneasy, making it a performance maybe as far removed from the fist-pumping Rambo image and Bruce's ass on the BUSA album cover as possible.

Edit, after a second listen: maybe 'rambling' is a little bit harsh, 'raw' maybe a better description. The performances on the Joad Tour were better but also a little bit.......polished??? 'Polished' is not the right word at all, but I can not think of another word now.

Also, this performance feels closer to the studio 'Nebraska version' (the Tracks version) than later acoustic performances. The Nebraska/Tracks version in general and the despair of it in particular.

That's why it's the best for me! :)

To me Born in the USA just doesn't work acoustically, at least this version still has a semblance of the melody, unlike the blues dirge it became on the Reunion tour. I'm all for experimentation but for me Seeds doesn't work either.

And a great performance of Follow That Dream.....

(Maybe should be added: 'as usual'...)

Oh I like Seeds too.

(see, I've just heard this show way too often from the past. Or saw it then. No way for me to be happy about this release.

Also I read that the song that's audience-derived is You Can Look.

Yeah, but as it's a capella I never plan to listen to it again anyway.

Nice performance of Hungry Heart...:)

After the accordeon opening you almost think Sandy will follow instead of Hungry Heart.

I remember the first time I saw it on video, Bruce doing the snapping his fingers like as a solo, I thought that was pretty funny. Cool version - but yeah, when did I last listen to it? I prefer the River version

Just know that if nugs lists this soon on their site as one of their best selling ones, then they've been lying all the time.

It is essential listening for every Bruce Springsteen fan.

But not something to listen to while doing the dishes.

It’s unique or it’s not; no such thing as ‘most unique’.

In addition to being the only one of its kind, the word could also be defined as very remarkable or unusual.

Bollocks.  As a devoted member of the militant grammarians of Massachusetts, I side with the imposter on this one.

Down with pedants!
