This thread prompted me to check my own profile as to when I joined, I was surprised to see it was 2007.

Not sure what finally prompted me to join, but I do remember shyly lurking for a while. I suspect I read a post of some sort that I really wanted to respond to and signed up.

I do wonder what happened to some folks over the years, there were some posters whose contributions were almost guaranteed good value. Earthslayer with his statistics and The Calvary with his musings on not just Bruce but life are two that immediately come to mind

Im sure he was an Aussie but was working overseas, i assumed USA,  he seemed to travel slot for work

I also miss Tomas T ? He was Swedish and had lots of lovelly things in his collection and an English fan called Paul

And of course Welby :(

If anyone is out there lurking, join us and speak of your love of Bruce

Sadly, we know what happened to the great Welby. Shout out to Billy's wonderful efforts in keeping Welby's writings alive on this site.

It's the other great contributors who just disappeared that I wonder about. At the end of the day, all I knew of them was their digital typing preserved on a digital medium. Yet still.... they (or what they presented to us on The Lake) are missed.

Hey there! I remember you KNE and I do recognize a few other names scrolling through some threads. Haven't been here in quite a while. My obsession has diminished greatly the last 10 years (kids, own band and original songs, other artists etc, etc...). This was the first place I registered outside of e-mail accounts I think. It could have been as early as 1998. Am I mistaken or was the first place called Open All Night? Karsten would know I guess.

I had some great years on here around 2000 with some really fun people. And weird people too. Some funny weird and some just weird. Remember the ETC secret forum? Now THAT was a weird place...

Anyway, nice to see the place is still alive and kicking. Keep it up guys!

It says in your profile you joined April 13, 2000.

Have mostly been a lurker, but looking at my profile I just realised that I joined October 22, 2002 - two days after the Rising show in Berlin. Talk about inspiration! I remember that Europe-in-two-weeks-tour to promote the new album back then pretty much knocked my socks off. And to think of all those great Crystal Cat boots that came out of it ...
