Almost time for the transfer window to open it will be interesting to see what happens at spurs, arsenal and Everton with new managers also what chelsea do ...and of course whether the teams towards the bottom of the league panic buy to try and stay up

Inter Milan officials have held talks with Olivier Giroud's agents and agreed terms for a January transfer, Sky in Italy are reporting.

The France striker, whose Blues deal expires in the summer, has agreed a two-and-a-half-year contract to join the Italian side

However, Inter have yet to agree a deal with Chelsea, who are asking for between £6.8m (€8m) and £8.5m (€10m).

Aston Villa have agreed a deal with AC Milan to take goalkeeper Pepe Reina on loan for the rest of the season.

Sky Sports News has verified a report in Italy that Villa and Milan have agreed a fee for the 37-year-old, and Reina is expected to arrive in Birmingham on Monday to undergo a medical and complete the formalities.

Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes has completed his medical ahead of his move to Tottenham.

A formal announcement on his move is expected in the next 24 hours.

Gedson will join on an 18-month loan deal, and Tottenham have an option to buy for £56m.

Cheese lovers like @JimCT will hope he turns out to be better than lo cello or ndombele their summer signings in midfield who have not proved to be worth it

I think he should be viewed more as an opportunistic signing for next year rather than an impact player on this year. 

Lo Celso got injured on international duty. S**t happens, I guess. When he has played he has shown promise, so not the bust you suggest. 

Ndombele simply wasn’t fit enough, I think, which is a shock. Again, when he has played he has encouraged the fans. Just has to get fit and stay healthy. 

Now, if Spurs can just get rid of Eriksen, Aurier, and Wanyama.
