marketing the tour as the end of the epic journey.

Bruce once said he would never do a 'farewell tour'.

But then, he also said in NYC 2009 the full River album performance that night would be the only full River album performance ever..:D

Agree re the encore, but BITUSA shows - one would be enough for me.

It wouldn't be my choice, but provided the shows were the usual length, there would be plenty more to hold my interest.

I'm willing to bet he will also play songs from WS, although he said he wouldn't. :)

2016 tour leg 1, USA: full river album at every show

2016 tour leg 2, Europe: band is tired of playing full river album, so we get greatest hits shows

2020 tour leg 1, Europe: full BITUSA album every show

2020 tour leg 2, USA: band is tired of playing full BITUSA album, so they give show with lots of rarities and outtakes

Why does everyone always think 50% of the setlist should be rarities, outtakes and sign requests? (In stadiums)

Also WS songs will be a good reason for 'casual fans' to order some drinks, for a toilet break and to chat and talk and scream while Bruce is singing Moonlight Motel.

As fun as rarities can be, there was a reason that the band on the Tunnel tour was so tight: more or less the same songs were played every night. Rarities usually seem to be played a bit sloppily (which is understandable), so how about making rarities (more) regular for a coming tour? Like Be True in '88.

Bruce saying "We've never played this before" from the stage is equally thrilling as it is - almost - a warning saying "this might be a total train wreck".

Moonlight Motel will be on the next tour without a shadow of a doubt.

2020 Euro tour: mini set Nebraska solo. Then full set with band featuring new album some from Western Stars and a few oldies.

Wondering if Bruce could make WS songs work with horns... I'm guessing most likely.

You could make songs that good work with a parking bollard.

But will Bruce be able to get the atmosphere of Moonlight Motel in a live performance?

If everyone shuts up he will. So the answer's probably no.

Exactly this.  There are so many great songs that he rarely or never plays.
I don't care if there's a new album or not.  There's already too many songs that I've never heard.
