My favorite of the night:

• The Irishman was amazing. Long, but amazing. It wasn’t the only epic movie. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, nearly three hours long. Leonardo DiCaprio attended the premiere, and by the end, his date was too old for him. Even Prince Andrew’s like, “Come on, Leo, mate. You’re nearly 50, son.”

This was mine:

'Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg'

Look at Ellen Degeneres as an example.  I've said it before....that woman is a saint and a role model.  She doesn't have to tell us that women are strong, or powerful, or victims or anything else.  She leads by example by being kind, genuinely funny and an equally opportunity enjoyer.  Her speech was long, but terrific.

Yeah, you the champ of women heaven forbid she did say that we are strong and powerful and whatnot.

Your bias is showing so bad - had she said anything close to those you bemoan you wouldn't be calling her praises.

Let me throw out a 'for instance' here.  If I keep saying over and over that I am a 'Champion of Women', does that actually make me a "Champion of Women"?

No, of course not.

But, doing or saying things that reflect on me being a "Champion of Women" may actually cause you and others to see me as the true "Champion of Women" that I am.

Does that make sense?

The following is polite way of saying that he was as funny as haemorrhoids and died on his feet.

I don't think there is really a question on his ability to make people laugh.

No.

He had his shining moment with The Office (and to a lesser extent, Extras, but that was largely on the self-effacing guests) but how much of the writing quality was down to Mr Merchant?

I remember his early work on the 11 o'clock show and it was execrable.

His stand up that I've seen is awful.

I haven't seen the Globe's stuff, but his schtick still seems to be shock-jock comedy.

A poor man's Frankie Boyle these days.

No,  I don't like him.  His style of humour is unpleasantly snide .  One-trick pony, can't act, he's always the same.

An inspirational teenager who terrifies angry, insecure, ignorant white men. (Not you obviously).
