With you on this in that I think it sits with Sam’s Town and Battle Born as the very best of their work.  Brilliant album.

Only one duff track for me, which is fire in bone.  Can’t stand it, simply because I don’t like that jerky white-boy funk style of music but of the others, every single one is absolute class without exception.

Love this album and as others have said, it pairs very well with LTY.

I didn't like verses of Fire In Bone that much at first. But it was my most listened track on Spotify this year and I absolutely love it now.

And I agree too - they do pair well..

I think this is how I rank the songs now after a few listens:

2. Blowback
3. Dying breed
4. Imploding the mirage
5. Lightning fields
6. Fire in bone
7. My own soul's warning
8. When the dreams run dry
9. Running towards a place
10. My god

1-4: Masterpieces
5: Great
6-8: Really good
9: Good
10: Average

My list:

1. My Own Souls Warning

2. Lightning Fields

3. A Fire In Bone

4. Dying Breed

5. A Fire In Bone

6. My God

7. Imploding The Mirage

8. Blowback

9. When The Dreams Run Dry

10. Running Towards A Place

1-2: Masterpieces

3-8: Great

9: Really good.

10: Good.

Next day I might rank 3-8 in a different order.

Will give it another go then :)

Sometimes tracks just sneak up on you when you least expect them to while you can sometimes become fatigued by other, more immediately accessible ones

Yeah I saw that on the FB feed. They must have kissed and made up. Not long now!

They always kiss and make up, when the money runs out.

Auntie, do you know what the dispute was/is about?

He wanted to do his own thing - he brought out an album I think. I read that he wanted to stay home and not tour as much - Brandon's always on the go.

... you called it to be fair!

Man the Killers were the first band for me, started off my whole music obsession. And led me to Bruce.

Since the announcement of this (rather underwhelming) Bruce collaboration I’ve been revisiting some of their more recent albums - I liked Wonderful Wonderful but honestly only gave Imploding the Mirage a couple of listens. Took a drive today listening to them both and was surprised how much I enjoyed them - what a fantastic band, can’t wait to catch them next year

Hopefully Bruce's coat tails of late are not to heavy so that he cant walk on stage without getting back pain.

Right I'm off to invest in a strong tin helmet, a full roman armoured fighting kit and to hunt down a deep 1st world war trench to jump into.

You might need it, young man!

Elvis must have been dragging a helluva lot of people around on his, eh?

Bruce included. ;)

Thank goodness another opportunity to sing with Bruce came along. Brandon and the rest of the Killers were washed up, no fans left to speak of, the songwriting had dried up - they really needed this to bolster their flagging careers.

Oh ... wait a minute ...
